which size SEIO?

explain to me how a mod that simple can double the flow output? of the maxi?? so your saying/oceanflow that now the maxi1200 is equal to the SEIO 2600?? curious on how that could work.

I've got a pair of Seio 1500's in a 4 ft 120g tank, have been running for almost a year without any problems. For your six foot tank, if you're wanting Seios, I would suggest at minimum the 1500's in there, if not bigger.

also, the seios do push tons of flow. but its so broad. theres no stream to it. the maxi mods, nano stream, tunze vortechs and all. they dont have that huge broad flow. thats why i first got the seios, but now, I dont like them, and the fact that there ungodly huge. the flow doesnt get very far, before its unnoticable.

Is it? That pump will put out 2500gph, roughly the same as a Seio 2600. The seio and maxi mod will cost roughly the same when everything is said and done however the maxi mod will take up FAR less space than the seio ;)

Right, but you can do it yourself for like $8, or order from Mjmods for $25. Oceanflo is expensive, especially when their shrouds are overly restrictive.

The same reason that a 8w tunze can move 1600 gph. Propellers move water much better than pump impellars.

I have 4 oceanflo's in my 180 and they work great. Two are mounted on magnets and are about half the size of Seio 1500's and the flow is comparable or better.

I tryed the MJmod and it didn't come out great, although that might be my DIY skills. If your handy you might want to try a MJmod and see how it comes out as they are pretty inexpensive.

hmm interesting? wonder if I could get away with 4x MAXI1200 MODDED on WAVY SEA's in my 500g 8 foot mixed tank?

If you're gonna DIY maximods, you might as well DIY a set of Swirler-Steins(check DIY forum) using $3 timing motors, instead of dropping $200 a piece to move them around.

Wave2K moves the water like nothing else. Most have a little "knocking" noise with the exchanger at first, but most also work that out to become very quiet.

GET THE RIO OUT! GET THE RIO OUT! I would rather have stagnant water than to rely on a rio for circulation. Do a search and see how many have been catastrophies! Ask Melev... he was lucky!
