White spot on purple tang

I just noticed this white mark on my purple tang, right by his mouth. His fins and tail look clear. The white spot doesn't seem fuzzy. I haven't added any new fish recently. It looks like he might he may have scratched it on something. Nobody picks on him - he's sort of the boss.

I would agree with your assessment. Doesn't look like ich or flukes. Looks like he was looking in or at something he shouldn't have

Is it raised up in anyway? My first thought is lymphocystis but I have only see it on or near the mouth of fish in disease books, typically it's on the body or fins or both. Caused by stress, has anything changed in the tank recently?

My Tomini Tags gets those from time to time. Never seems to bother him, they usually go away in a day or two.

Nothing has really changed. I removed another fish with a fish trap over a week ago.

He's bumped something, mine does it all the time .............
