white yellow tang?!?

Any reason why the back half of my yellow tang is white?

It was like this at the store when i got him, he eats well, etc.

I feed him mysis, pellets, Nori sheets and he feeds on the algae in the tank. I've had him about a week now, and was thinking he should be coloring up?

any ideas?

yep..was it during the time he/she usually sleeps ? mine looks like that all the time in the middle of the night..

no... when it sleeps it gets a white line and a brown spot.

this shot was taken 20 mins ago... after being fed twice today, and in full daylight since 2pm...

I'd be inclined to agree with stress because any pics I've seen of hybrids seem to have distinct division between bright yellow and bright white whereas yours seems to fade out.

When i lived in tampa... There was one store that is now closed that sold Imperfected fish and sold them for a lot of money... Like a bangaii cardinal without one of its stripes for $250... Kinda like that.

Anyway, They had a yellow tang there with a pale belly kind of like yours that they were selling for bookoo bucks... IMO, i think you have a good find. Its kina like the yellow bellied hippo tang.

most likely. When i got him... he had just come from a shipment i believe the day before... so it def could be. i'll keep a good eye on him.

it's a small YT.

You should be able to keep a small YT in a 30 for awhile.

Here is a better shot i took of mr yellow. The other side of his body is more white than this side pictured. (look at other pic above)

these yellow zoos from calidreamin will make up for it i guess
