who has the biggest sps colony

Okinawa, it's rediculous. It's really a reefers dream, though, technically, you're not supposed to take frags home. I was at a local pet store the other day for the first time and 4" maxima clams were 10 bucks. The Soft corals here are HUUUUUGE. I've seen 15 foot sinularia and some pretty awesome anemones. Here's a couple more

wow! I never knew that Japan had reefs until this month =/ Please post more :D

Be very careful... I wish I never learned about the reefkeeping ways of the Japanese. Some simply amazing reefs (pretty good links on glass box design if you want to learn more)...

I saw a bubble coral in the Philippines in Bohol that was 12 feet around and 8 feet off the bottom. I could not believe my eyes. I go back in 2 to 3 years, I'll see if it's still there. Biggest thing I ever saw coralwise.

Well if your talking about corals in a tank you have to mention Atlantis Marine World in Riverhead, Long Island, NY.

Thank you for posting this. I lived in Long Island for a summer a few years ago. Worked at Suffolk County Fish and Reef while I lived there. I was told by many to go check out Atlantis but with work and life I never got a chance to get out there. I was told it was a very large reef and I would be blown away. I now live in Arizona so no chance now :thumbdown.

Seaworld Orlando has a mind blowing sps tank. IIRC colony count is in the high hundreds, if not >1k. They have some fantastic coldwater anemone DT's too.

i was lucky enough to grow up in long island and i can tell you that atlantis is like mecca for us reefers! now im live in cali and get to go to vivid...

Well since you asked for big, and not pretty, this is 'Big Ugly' (b/c it's big, and it's ugly):

A. microphthalma

probably a full meter across, and 18 - 20" tall. and before anyone gives any guff, it's 7' from the lights, that's why it's brown.

this is what you call... "legit" :) awesome work and amazing colony for the big Fugley Lol... but seriously, very nice my friend, for real...
