Who uses Night Mode on their 7095 Controller and why?

AcroporAddict

There is no substitute.
My photoperiod is about 7 hours, so the 6101s on my tank are going thru their programmed cycle for 7 hours a day, but both are at 30% for 17 hours a day when lights are off because I currently use Night Mode.

Is the Night Mode necessary, or would the reef benefit most from not using it? I was wondering how important it really is to let the pods, etc rise up as described in the Night Mode section of the 7095 users manual? Thanks.
Dave

In this case I might suggest against night mode. Plankton does tend to rise and swarm at night but most aquariums won't have any substantial plankton population and the stronger flow is not likely to cause any harm.

I use the nightmode on mine because i want the water to be calm at night so i can feed the coral. Since i have so much flow in my tank even on nightmode the tank still maintain 7000gph @30%.
