Thanks for the compliments. It's been a journey.

Semper Fi, some colors are definitely faster growers than others. The brown/gray palys in particular are weeds. I nuke them with Kalk paste but they come back. I periodically rearrange it a little and/or prune out some of the more vigorous ones.

Capn', this tank will be two years old in October. All the SPS (except for the orange cap) have really only been in the tank about 8 months. I had a major RTN incident last summer that wiped out everything but the orange guy (that started the size of a nickel)

General Info: 90 Gal AGA with a dinky sump that contains an undersized Aqua Euro USA protein skimmer and phosban reactors with GFO and Carbon. Lights are 48" Current USA 2 X 150W MH (14K Phoenix, 12K Reeflux) and 2 X 130W PC dual actinics. Ten gallon water change each week. Kalk drips at night when I'm not too lazy. Click the red house above my post to see other pics.

Yeah, like you said the brown ones are fiesty. lol That's all my buddy was left with...from the sandbed all the way to the top of the live rock and from the left overflow to the right one. It was a HUGE mass of zoanthids. Even though an ugly drab color (compared to the ones you have) it was still impressive to see a colony that size.

I'm glad you seperate em, rearrange them then. And so you ARE saying that if you left them unchecked, and 'let them battle it out', you'd be left with one animal? Probably the green paly's. Pretty cool to think about isn't it? Survival of the fittest!

how big is this tank? its beautiful but imop overstocked?

Thanks Capn.

I got my CUC in today, light on the tank, and 11 SPS fargs in place. Man those can be a pain to glue the plugs to the rock work. I will post pics tomorrow with the lights on. I left my camera at work.

this thread is definitely awesome. subscribing for any future inspirations to be posted here as well. (perhaps a bump w/ the same token :) )
