Who's got clams?

Please share your experience with clams. I bought a clam today. Don't even know what it is? Think it's a maxima, but share your husbandry care on them.

I just lost one of mine. This is the one I have left.

I just do water changes don't do anything for food. Just fish poop and a few left overs from feedings

I hear they consume calcium like crazy, so make sure to track the additional calcium consumption and compensate.

I too hard heard the will suck calcium like mad.

That's a nice looking clam.

The shape of the scutes, the space between the rows of them, and the mantle shape and coloration suggest to me that it is Tridacna squamosa.

Tridacna clams are beautiful creatures. I just lost an awesome blue maxima that was in the tank for a couple years. Very sad.
