Whats the difference in a cheap model like this and the high end ones? I have a 29 tall

Cause its made by Odyssea. You are going to get mixed reviews on this. Their earlier models were causing peoples homes to burn down. I have one that is about 5 yrs old but its only CF bulbs and really never had any major issues just small ones with wires burning out due to improper ventilation. I had to modify it and add 3 additional fans to keep it cool and I also heard they are not UL listed approved. You get what you pay for when it comes to this. I use mine on my fresh water tank so it really isnt an issue for me. My salt water tank has a different set up

There's no supplemental lights with it. Just moons.
Get one with T5 supplements.

I've had 2 Odysseas. For the most part you'll end up replacing the ballast and bulbs which will double the cost of the thing.(or more)

If its a new one the ballast shud be fine, but for the bulb it says 15k but look more like10. Ask the vendor if he knows the amp draw. If its 2.5 amp then the ballast will push the bulbs at 250, but if its less you would want to get a new ballast. I own two, 1 is about 4 years old and i had to replace the ballast, and the second one is about 6 months old and the ballasts are fine but the color of the bulbs suck.
