My wife last night as we were looking at our 75g mixed reef says "Everything growing so big now. You need a bigger tank."

She has no idea what shes done.

I really dont want another tank.It took soooo long for this one to mature and be able to produce the kind of growth she is seeing. Also I dont want the bigger water changes and having to upgrade my equipment for a 120 or 150 sized tank..geez but Ive sure been thinking about it now. Thanks alot Honey!!!

Yep

Yep

Yea I just upgraded to a 125 and im not so sure I'm satisfied I got the length but really could use more depth.

Facts of life time and change happen to us all

I completely regret moving from a 75G which was thriving, beautiful tank to a 125 thinking the same thing. Bigger is better right? Consider what you have, how much time you spend on it and if you are satisfied with the results. If you are, I vote, leave it be. Constantly chasing something better is the "road to hell" I assure you. For me, it just ended up being more time, money and hassle than it was worth. I wish I had never moved out of the 75G, it was (subjectively) the most beautiful tank I have seen to date and it practically took care of itself. I miss that tank, no 3,000 gallon pool could ever replace it. Guess Im just sayin', look closely at what you got, there are no guarantees you will get the same results in a larger (or smaller) tank. What ever you decide, best of luck!

Good Input MFlake. I have a 75G and am as happy as a clam.....

Not sure if I am openning a can of worms here, but are you making a statement with your banner "* non-wtmrac member" and current tank "Ninguno". So ignoring what a picture of the actor playing a psychotic man is supposed to represent (unless your name is Johnny) for a moment.....are you saying you have no tank (ninguno) and you are posting on the club website for which you are proudly not a member? just curious.....:p

Marine Flake thanks for your comments. I have since decided on staying where I am. I am in the process of moving out some larger colonies of LPS in favor of more SPS since the once I have are growing so nicely now (sorry Rudolph I know you dont like the "sticks") and I really do love the footprint of this tank in my living room. The 75 will be here for the considerable future but will be getting an internal face lift

and Rudolph at least I proudly put my family pic on here where as you have none?? :)

I have eight brother and sisters....Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen.

Yes, I have been told my journey will end with a 120G and SPS, or sticks....it sounds like it is inevitable....

I think I will one day get a 120 also. I've been told by several people that it is the perfect size and best dimensions for a reef. But I just dont want to a) wait another 1.5 yrs for a tank to mature and b) spend another 3000+ on lights ,skimmers tank and stand.
And like you it will probably be SPS dominated. I have more patience it seems now than I when I began in the reefing hobby . that has helped my SPS growth more than anything else , lol.
