Wild Onyx Clownfish. Take 3

I reunited the old pair. They both stopped eating after separation. However both started eating within 5 mins of being reunited. I don't know what to make out of that experience.

Wow talk about haveing a broken heart, so depressed about missing their mate. Glad their eating again

Thanks. It certainly looked like a case of a broken heart. I just want them to get along. They are too close in size and after almost 4 months together I still don't know which is a female and which is male.

My new Solomon Islands breeding pair. The male is Onyx. They belonged to another hobbyist and were spawning in his tank.

I bought these clowns an Innovative Marine Nuvo 16 gallons 2 days ago. My plan was to transfer them there this weekend but that might have to wait. They are showing pre-spawning behavior. I don't want to interfere.

About two weeks ago I had to put the clowns in the sump of my 60 gallon. There are no pumps in that section and clowns have enough room for themselves. I caught them engaged in what looked like egg laying. However, due to a dirty glass of the sump I couldn't tell for sure. I just looked inside the pot and there is a clutch of orange eggs. Victory!
Here's a crappy video I had to take from afar not to scare the clowns.

I hear its got something to do with buckets, rotifers, and icky green water... lol

Welcome to yet another marine aquaria related obsession with success... :)

My clowns are no longer in the sump. They have been moved to a 16 gallon IM Nuvo. I was happy they found their eggs and continue to care of them in the new home.

The clowns laid eggs today
