Will a mated pair of pink skunks be okay in a 14 g Bio Cube?

I'm getting a mated pair of pink skunks, and I'm wondering whether I should put them into the 14 gallon Bio Cube I have or into my 55 tall. The main advantage to putting them in the Bio Cube is that if I do, I can get a mate for my onyx in my 55 tall. Plus, in the Bio Cube, no other fish would be able to bother them.

Will the pink skunks be okay in the 14 gallon biocube? They would only have cleanup crew, live rock, and an anemone in there with them.

Which tank would they be more likely to spawn in?

yea that should be fine skunks dont get very big and since they will be alone they wil be fine. most people reccomend 30 gal. or larger for breeding but i really dont think it will make much of a difference as long as the conditions are right

Since you said you had onyx clowns I would put the onyx in your 14 and put the skunks in the 55.

The problem is I'm worried about the onyx clowns being so little and slipping into the overflow of the Biocube. The other thing is that I would have a heck of a time catching them!

So, the choices are to put the pink skunks in the 55 with the onyx or in the 14 biocube. Would they be okay in the 55 since the onyx are so small? Or should I just put them in the 14 to be safe?

i had a pair of pink skunks in the same 60 with my true percs and they were great together. Even in the same nem at some times.

Did it keep either pair from spawning?

A spawning size female pink skunk will be 4" long or more. Unless your biocube is bare, they will probably be too cramped to spawn. If your female is not yet breeding size, the chances of her reaching breeding size in such a small tank are slim.

I have two pieces of liverock in the tank right now, but I could actually take those out. Might be a good idea.

Decisions, decisions! I'm just afraid if I put them in the 55 it will keep one or both pairs of clowns (skunks and onyx) from pairing up.

i think your clowns are the same size as mine, but i put mine in the biocube. the only thing i did was cut up a small piece of acrylic and put it at the bottom intake which holds up unless you shut the pump off, and for the top one i used one of the biocube carbon filters and ripped out the carbon along with the cloth and stuck in the top filter just in case they slip through theyll probably be held in there for a while until i notice... another thing i did was just place a sponge at the top fo the middle chamber, but so far they havent gone through the filter

what worried me is that one of the onyx fish likes to sleep towards the very top at the back and im afraid itll jump out over the wall or jump out of the tank, so at night i just place a an acrylic sheet on the top just so i can sleep at night. during the day they stay towards the bottom of the tank
