Will air fresheners do harm...??

May sound like a silly question, but the people in my home love to use them, some times I think overuse is the best term. I know that there have been horror stories involving other household items. The tank in question is a standard 5 gal mini-bow with an aqua-clear 20 for filtration. Intended to house a N.wennerae or a G.smithii(if I can find one). There's not a lot of exposed water, but it still concerns me. I also tend to use inscents to freshen my bedroom which is where the tank is located. Should I have any concerns about the adverse affects of either of these?:)

im following along as well i use alot of incencs as well and last time i cleaned the skimmer .(for some reason) i smelled the skimate expecting to be bad but smelled like incence. i dont have a reef but good to know in the future when i do.

I wouldn't use any aerosol around the tank in any form (air freshener, static cling free, ect...) as for the other forms like Smoke, Candles ect. don't know but I'm always running carbon.

I don't take chances and IF i use them in that same room always point the spray down to the carpet.

why take chances...

yeah, not taking any chances is the normal thought process I tend to follow any way. My family has gotten the point about that with me harping about a thousand times about where they spray in the family room(where my 46 reef is located with the eggcrate top). But I was posing the question in regaurds to mantids and their particular sensitivity certain houshold items such as floorwax to ascertain whether or not any specific or extrodinary precautions should be taken. Just can't seem to stop worrying about those few arrant particles that MAY make their way into the the tank considering that it's such a small volume of water, you know...

then let me put t like this, I have used airfresheners in the room with all my tanks and at this point I would say I doubt that its very harmfus becuse ist highly unlikely that I haven't gotten at least a few drops in the tank.
Well my GF probably has. Caught her using WINDEX on the glass top over my Axolotl. Not quite sure who was more aggitated by that excahnge; her because I TORE into her for it, then handed it to her and told her to go wash it. Or me because we have been over this a thousand times.

Was not aware of any sensitivity to floor wax.... (but I don't have hard floors. :) Anything else I need to watch out for?

I would also like to appologise for my abhorent typing in the last post.
I'm going home and going to bed now.

As far as I know, nothing else to really watch out for. Was just trying to cover my bases. Maybe I'm a bit anxious because I've wanted one of the cool little critters for so long....:)
