will I have a heat problem down there?

hey guys,
Looks like I'm going to be downgrading to move down to Memphis, and I was just wondering if you guys thought I would have a heat problem with the following setup:

30 gallon cube.
250 SE MH on IceCap ballast (fans in the canopy)
Sedra 5000 on my ASM G3 (submerged)
and an external Eheim 1260 for return.

There will be no other powerheads or anything like that, as I'm trying to keep heat introduced to the water to a minimum.

My sump will probably be around 10 gallons. Do you guys think I will have a problem with heat as the current setup stands?

Thanks,
Dave

With a couple of fans...probably no problem...but that will all depend on the ambient temperature of the room, etc.

haha, well the only heart problem i'm expecting is being stressed out from studying too much.....

that and too much barbecue :D

You're going to need a fan. And central air, if you can possibly arrange it. Failing that, a rollabout air conditioner: no sense making the tank more comfortable than you are.

well, I was planning on a couple fans in the canopy, and I can have one on the sump if I need to. Think I should try to maximize the size of the sump? I'm going to build one, so I have some control over that.

A friend had a 30G hex setup with a 150 over it and it was out of the 2 degree swing range. He did rig up some fans that helped, but his canopy covered the tank and sealed in the goodness. Without a chiller I think a 250 is gonna make a good place to make some fish stix ; ) I hope I am wrong!

I have a 250W HQI on my 29G and no heat problems. I bought a small fan that is aimed across the top of the water and it keeps it at 79 degrees.

better head to walmart and get plenty of fans if you keep the room warm.

if you keep the room pretty cool, then you may end up with a wild swing from day to night.

a small chiller would probably be worth having if you have Acros.

thanks for all the opinions, guys. I tend to keep my place pretty cool, so I think I'll try it at first with the fans.

you guys sure do have lots of wild animals in your avatars.

Nothing wild about my animal. It performs on demand.
