Will someone please differentiate Trach, Wells, Blasto, Scolly, etc

Hi, What is the difference between the various meat brain corals. I have two that I think are the same type but I dont know what type they are. What is the difference between these corals: Trach vs Wellso vs Blasto vs Scolly vs Meat. PICTURES PLEASE!!! Thanks so much

The best way is to buy a book on corals there's many you can buy from $35-100 that will tell you about the coral and the proper scientific name. Other than that you can browse online retailers like DD that post a photo, common, and scientific names.

"Corals" by Eric Borneman is a great book. A must have IMO for anyone wanting to learn about corals. Has a pic to go with each kind also.

Welsophyllia were reclassified to Trachyphyllia. Blastomussa, scolymia and meat (cyanaria) are all distinct.

I can't tell you in scientific terms how they differ but we can probably ID the corals you hav with a couple of pics.

what are the brain corals on the right? I think they are the same species. The green one is actually larger, though the red one inflates more since my flame angel occasionally takes a nibble at the green brain. THis type of brain does well in my tank and I tried a different but similar type twice and it died within a few weeks. The kind that dies in my tank is shaped like a frown-crazy-eight and the skeleton is very teethy. Thanks for any help...btw I do have the coral reference book and I couldnt find the answer
