Will this screw on my skimmer rust?

I have an IceCap K2 skimmer and the overall build quality is great but this one screw concerns me. It is the only metal component of the whole skimmer. If I keep it at the recommended water depth between 6-8 inches this metal screw is submerged.

Will constant contact with saltwater rust this screw and cause havoc in my aquarium?

Do you know what it's made of?

I read the manual to see if the parts list stated what it is made of but it didn't.

Imagine it's stainless steel and would be fine for a while. Curious choice though. Chillers use titanium, a corrosion resistant metal without any problems.

Can you get a better picture of it? Where I can see the color of it? If it's titanium then now, stainless steel can still rust though some are more resistant than others. If the manufacturer placed that screw there I would assume it is resistant to rusting in a marine aquarium.

One would hope.

Some stainless will rust. High quality stainless and titanium will not. I have to imagine they used a material that won't corrode.

I also assumed that it should be fine if they put it there, it just didn't make sense to me why they wouldn't just use plastic

Highly doubtful it's titanium IMO. I wouldn't be too concerned, should be easy to monitor when doing maintenance/skimmer cleaning.

Its stainless for sure based on color.... (could be nickel plated steel as that has the same color but that would just be stupid)
It will not be a problem being stainless..

Its certainly NOT titanium.. That would be pricey..

i agree Titanium does not shine much and when milled as this screw it the groves would be grayish ...

i bet its 316 stainless if so i have some in my sump that are 4-5 years old

Could remove one of the 13 in my shoulder and arm to compare ... ahh on second thought NO...

I received an email back from Jeremy at CoralVue "all metal components are Titanium"
