Wish me luck as we all know the track records. She is currently in a 75 degree QT system and she has a corner egg crated off all to herself. She did such down down arctipods this morning and seemed interested in the PE mysis. Hopefully I will be able to update our success :)

Mark - that lil gal is stunning!!!! What a find! I would get some spirolina enhanced brine and try it. All of my "tough" to get to eat angels eat that like it is going out of style.

Where did you get her?

Nice one Mark! The thing I try to remember is that these fish eat off substrates. I think water column food confuses them initially. So I start with clams on the half shell. Then I add frozen food to the leftover shells(the frozen sheet types are easy to rubberband). Eventually, the frozen food takes over. Then, when I feed the water column with the same stuff, there appeared to be a Eureka! moment with my fish regarding water column feedings, and it started eating whatever I threw in there. :)

Thanks Chris, A lfs (exotic) called me yesterday telling me they had a tiny one that just came in. I shut down my computer and headed out for an extended lunch. I was planning on picking up some the hikari enriched brine and some live blackworms after work today. Luckliy tomorrow is a day off for Veteran's Day (Thank You Veterans for all that you have done) so I will be able to stay at home and feed all day long :D

Thank You Mark. I was also planning on picking up some clams as they are a must when working on a new angel. I placed a couple pieces of LR with some nice sponges in there for it to munch on as well.

Good luck Mark! A real beauty. I recently picked one up (much larger). Loves minced fresh mysis, frozen scallop, Ocean Nutrition VHP formula (well thawed to make it mushy) and NLS pellets.

Thanks Peter, I will be feeding it everything I can :p

Sorry, correction. That should read minced fresh mussel, not mysis. She's not terribly fond of mysis.

That is a great looking little regal. Do you know which region it was collected from?

I was told it was transhipped in from Bali, but as another one of my friends also reminded me that bali is also a hub from other places such as sumatra so it will be the "lets get this gal to live and then the wait and see game".

wow awesome fish!! i always wanted one that small but they never make it out of the lfs. great find! about the clam on the half shell is it raw/live clams from the supermarket or is it cooked? what kind of clam? wouldn't raw seafood not be safe for our lovely fishes? Also what kind of sponge do i feed the angels? how about the blue sponge i can buy from the lfs? i also got a 4 inch regal from red sea 3 weeks ago haven't got him to eat yet. sorry to hijack your thread :( and in canada where i'm from we don't have that much selection of live seafood. thanks

There are frozen clams on the half shell that you can find at the lfs. As for sponges, most of my liverock is old and has plenty of sponge over it.
The fish has not eaten in 3 weeks and its still alive? Is it in a QT tank where you can control what you are feeding it? As for raw seafood, what happens when a fish dies in the ocean and other fish begin to consume it? I used to blend in raw shrimp and raw tuna in a food mixture until I got too lazy.

he is in my DT now i guess he has been feeding on the liverock but really want to get him to start eating prepared foods. hmm that sucks cuz none of my lfs sells clams on the half shell lol! so would they be the same as the ones from the supermarket? do you know what kind of clam? would live scallops split in half then frozen work? thanks sorry for the questions
