Worm spotted

I spotted a worm swimming about in circles last night a minute after the lights went out. I couldn't get my camera in time but curious if anyone can suggest a few places or pics to help me ID it? It was under 2", round and a beige/cream color with point at least one pointed end. The ends were a slightly different shade. It swam in circles for a minute then retired to an empty shell on the sand bed. By the time I got my phone to snap a pic, it was gone.

Sounds like it may have been a peanut worm..

It sounds more like a Polychaete epitoke to me.

It didn't have the hair/spaghetti look to it though. Either way, just trying to confirm it's safe. I'll try to get a pic if I can next time.
