Worm's 180 build

Stretch marks.
That is what I thought. I remember seeing it on day one when I put it in the tank. But I kinda forgot about it.

Or it's being eaten from the other side by that darned monster from the movie Tremors.
No.. those are down below, in the sandbed. I have pictures of it a few pages back.

Could it be splitting?

I do not think so, it has been there for a while. Looks kinda like an OLD cut, maybe from early in its life, but it is smooth, like a scar.

HAHAHAHA... That is one... but what about this one:

I was looking at my tank last night, looking for just bristle worms.

I know my signature says "8+ Bristle Worm" but... humm...

I stopped counting at 100 and I was about 1/2 way across and just on the sand bed floor.

I got my first as a hitchhiker on LR on the old 120.

I loved the way they would come out and steal pellets or basic food.

Then I researched them more and more. (Two of the boys at home hate them.) they use their bristles like a pipe cleaner and keep the rock cleaned out and let bacteria/pods have full access to those holes. They keep anything that gets washed/flowed into them clean, and most of all will consume dead things on the substrate surface pretty quick.

I am always careful moving polyps/frags as they sometimes sit below them. I have only been hit once by them and I thought I was careful then, really careful now. As it was not a mind-melting experience, it was just an irritant. Kinda like fiberglass on your forearm.

Yea on my old 180 I would constantly get them on my hands, I quickly learned that the rough side of a dish washing sponge will get the bristles out.

I have kids for washing dishes... I have no idea where a sponge would even be... HAHAHAHAHA (yeah right... kids now a days do everything electronic...)

(OK I must admit... I teach my kids the values in life, the worth of a dollar, and how to do things WITHOUT electronics... cleaning room, washing dishes, raking the yard.....)

OK I was feeding the 180. I wanted my 11yo to see the clam from a top down view, as it looks completely different than from the front view.

He looks and is like WOW... that is nice! It is bright and the blue is so different.

Yea it is... -- I replied.

He was standing there looking down at the new red haddoni and other things, as the pumps were off during feeding. He asks when I got a sea urchin...

WHAT???!!

I ask...

He points it out and I come back over from where I was checking on the RODI... Low and behold this is what I saw:

Yeah... now... hummm... WHO has been over lately? When did you put that in there? WAIT... Humm no one has been over to add anything without me knowing. Talk about a strange hitchhiker... I wonder what I brought that in on.

The rock it is on (right in the middle for those wanting to look at the web cam, below the rhocodi) was DRY and new when I put it in this tank. While I did have 2 tuxedo sea urchins, in my 120, upstairs, and they died.... I have not added anything that I could see having a hitchhiker of this size.

YES things grow, and it is possible it grew from a fledgling... WHY have I not seen it. Hummm...

Here are a few more pictures:

Here are a few more that I took as the lights were almost all the way down and it came out of it's hiding spot.

Any ideas what type it is?
