They sell these at the local bait shops in northern Cali, they are sold as pile worms.

cateyes,
Cool ribbonworm!
Where can I get one?
Do you ever see it out crawling around?

Mine is probably Basiodiscus mexicanus.
Besides when I moved it's tank, I've only seen it out 3 times in over two years. One time it was completely stretched out around all four sides of a 24 inch tank with part of it's tail still hidden. It is between 4 and 5 feet long.

My Royal Gramma constantly has bristles on his face, will he ever learn? It reminds me of a dog that messed with a porcupine.

I was so excited I caught this guy. Ended up pulling half of my rocks. He put a huge dent in my snail, crab and corals. Wish I had room to have setup a tank just for him.

Any type of marine worms... hold your lunch and post your pictures.

Oh, that's so cold.... why don't you just stab me in the heart? :sad1: But at least you got people to post worm pics so you're forgiven! :celeb3:

To recap, we've got 4 types of polychaetes (bristles), 2 nemerteans (ribbons), and 1 sipuncula (peanut):

Family Amphinomidae, Eurythoe complanata, AKA fireworm (detritivore & scavenger)
Family Oenonidae, Oenone fulgida, AKA mollusc muncher (fishdoc)
Family Eunicidae, Eunice sp, AKA coral munchers (but many of them are harmless detritivores, scavengers, & herbivores)
Family Cirratulidae, AKA hairworms (detritivores)

Nemertea -
Notospermus tricuspidatus
Baseodiscus mexicanus (both are predators on smaller organisms like other worms, crustaceans, nudis but will also eat detritus)

Lamonte - Lobster of Justice had a Eurythoe. These aren't sold for bait that I know of. Pile worms sold in bait shops are Neanthes virens, imported from the east coast or England.

Sipuncula - peanut worm (detritivore)

Thanks for posting everyone!
