Would my carpet eat my Percula?

Hey Guys,
just checked my tank and i can't find my male percula, i checked all around the tank to make sure that it didn't jump out, but no sign of the fish, the only thing i can come up with is that the carpet ate it, has that ever happened to any of you?

Yes it has. My S. haddoni ate 3 tank-raised clowns. 1 Percula and 2 black Ocellaris. Has the clowns used it for a host yet? Mine wouldnt use it and when the power went off one time they tried to go in it. Ended up getting stuck and pulled in. I tried pulling them out but I couldnt. I was very angry. I ended up getting a wild pair of Saddleback clowns. They had no issues.

Oh well then I doubt it was the carpet. Once they are in they wont get eaten. It might have just died and was cleaned up before you seen any remains.

I doubt that, it was a very healthy fish and i had him fo over 2 years, it is a true mystery. Guess i will never know.

the tank has no sump and is ony a 40 gallon tank with a cannister filter and prizm skimmer, both of which have a screen on the intake.

I've just got back from holiday - 2 weeks - and during that time my son was looking after the tank. I did a quick head count and the following were missing: 1x Cleaner shrimp, 1x flagtailed pipefish, 1x 4" saddleback clown. The tank contains a 14" blue haddoni. The haddoni can perhaps account for the missing shrimp and pipefish but the saddleback ??? There's no sign of any remains. The carpet had been in the tank for 6 months without any losses and hasn't moved so I'm at a complete loss to explain what's happened. :(

Did your son have some mysterious new play station games when you got back :)

LOL

or they died and got rid of the evidence before you got back.

Possible that your haddoni ate your fish. I've read somewhere that there are instances that the haddoni ate the clown they're hosting, besdies haddoni is known to be a great fish eater. One of my BW occelaris is almost eatin by my haddoni once nad oh my nassarius have been eatin tho after six hours he poop it out and the nass is still alive.
