i have a 200 gallon predador fish only tank with 300 lbs of live rock with a 400 wet dry sump and a red sea wave maker . we have a porcipine puffer 2 damsels naso tang sailfin tang sohal tang yelow tang koran angel panther grouper picasso trigger clown trigger a goat fish french angel

Well..I'd say no..I am not trying to be mean in saying this but I think you have too many fish for a 200. If you are able to keep them for an extended period of time you are going to wake up one morning and your Clown Trigger will have thinned them out for you. You already have some great fish and a Titan Trigger will not add anything of value IMO.

I actually own a Titan that has its own 300 gallon tank. I am going to add a three damsels with him/her but that will be it (Might add a wrasse of some sort but leaning against it)

+1 The clown will go postal sooner or later, its really hard to find good tankmates for an adult CT. I've had it happen 3 times, finally learned.

I added a small blueline trigger to my 420g and can already see trouble on its way. Impulse buy and knew better.

LOTS of fish here. As stated "NO" to the Titan.

Also as stated, once your Clown Trigger reaches a certain length (roughly 5 - 7") it will likely (at night) go on a killing spree. Most any I have know, whether grew up as a small juvenile, or other, at some point decide they really don't "like" any other fish anymore, and decimate everything in the tank.

I'll add a "no" and also comment on the fish you have now:

porcipine puffer - should be okay, I had one that was a bully

2 damsels - okay

naso tang, sailfin tang, sohal tang, yelow tang - too many tangs! I'd get rid of at least two, and one of those would definitely be the sohal - your tank is simply not big enough

koran angel, french angel - french angel gets too big, limit to the koran only

panther grouper - these get huge as adults, you will need to rehome

picasso trigger - OK maybe if you limit fish population to not more than 6-8 reasonable sized fish

clown trigger - what others said

a goat fish - too passive for your mix. most starve in captivity, even in mellow tanks

I would have to say NO with my current issue with a killer clown trigger(suspected killer he hasnt been tried or found guilty yet)

http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1953713

and from every thing i have read titans are meaner and get bigger than clown triggers, in fact i would suspect that a Titan triggers(adult) good behavior day would be 10x worse than the clown triggers(adult) baddest meanest day...just my opinion

You think? I had a titan trigger chase me for 100 yards; it kept trying to bite me (have you seen its teeth?) and I had to beat it off with a camera rig. It eventually gave up. Lucky me!

like others stated they just get way to big for your tank......

Also like others stated I would consider thinning out your inhabitants a bit. I wanted to get a french angel for my 10ft 475g FO & I was told to stay away due to attitude & their size.

My sohal so far doesn't have to much of a attitude & he's in my temporary 220g. I hope he will chill out a bit more when I move him to his new home. These guys get a foot long just like the sailfin & naso so room will be very tight when they get big especially with the other fish you have.

I think you need to figure out which way you want to go with your tank, more or less aggrerssive & thin out the fish according to the direction. I really like groupers they just get to big for me...... I like triggers but I do not want ones that will go on a killing spree so I am going with multiple smaller less aggressive ones. Which also allows me to use a few tangs that stay smaller.

Quote: palmer373 so what would be an ideal setup for a titan trigger? jsut curious.

Answer: By himself in a very large tank!

I have a Titan and the best I could do for now is a 300 gallon tank. I got one of the 6x3 though as I think its better for a larger fish than the 8x2. Honestly though.. I would advise against getting a Titan. I am really not happy with him. But, he is mine and I feel responsible to give him the best life possible. Unless his attitude changes and he gets adult colors I will most likely not change my opinion. He has what I'd consider Undulated Trigger attitude. They seems to hide more than most triggers but will attack and kill other fish. Thats the way my guy acts. He runs and hides when anyone enters the room, but when its feeding time he attacks me through the glass, rushes like a homicidal maniac at his own reflection, so I know he'd shred anything else that would be unable to escape.

If I had to do it all over again I'd get a Huma Trigger with 4 or so other medium sized fish for my 300. Or I'd go FW and get about 150 Exodon Paradoxus. Could you imagine 150 of those dudes in a 300 gallon planted tank???? Now that would be like falling into a swarm of killer bees!!!!!!

Titan's I think get larger & are meaner then queen's...... if I was to get a queen (always wanted one but no room) I would think 8-10ft long as a min tank size & 30-36in of depth would also be the minimum made of glass (not startfire) to reduce the chances of scratches. A queen growing to 15-20inches to me would seem cramped in anything smaller when they get closer to full grown.

For what its worth I have had a CT ~7". He lives with a large scribbled and 2 golden butterfly's (tank below in signature). I have had no issues other than a few squabbles here and there (scribbled and CT have been together for about 2 years). They are all well fed and there is a decent amount of rock in the tank for "playing tag".

Maybe the time will come when he goes psycho, but its been like this for a few years now.
