WOW internet Cable Phone

Thats a common misconception anyway, at&t doesn't own anything anymore. SBC purchased and kept the name because of it's international recognition.

I'm assuming you work for WOW? If that's the case then SBC owned Americast, which sold their fiber ring to WOW.

Naw I work for commiecast, We actually may be brothers before too long IBEW is banging on the door and all these young kids think that organizing is going to get them $30hr starting pay

superlazy
If we all jump to cdv who going to pay for the 911 service? At this time att/sbc or the local phone service people pay to keep it up and running. check your bill to see if there a service charge for 911.

Chuck Like I said I don't have a land line and I am in no way suggesting that anyone switch to cdv like I said eariler I dont think it's reliable enough yet for me.
911 was was the reason I switched to cell because bell left us without service for 7 day and with 2 little kids in the house that was unacceptable

Just to make it clear I'm not promoting or bashing either service just passing along what I know

We have no problems with our 911 service on Vonage. I have used it a few times without any problems.

And as of May of last year all VOIP compaines are required by the FCC to provide reliable 911 service.

Actually we have a teenage relative moving shortly so I've been thinking about adding Vonage.

internet Cable Phone has no 911 if you have kid or some happens you have no 911.

I beg to differ...........comcast and WOW are both E911 certified. VONAGE should be by now

RIGHT ON!

So anyways..................the point of this thread was to seek other WOW users and see how happy they are with the service etc. Not to argue back and forth of the non existance of the 911 issues. As a post above this one says that the VOIP phones were required to be E911 certified.

do you realy thing that all has did what fcc repuired. the fcc can not make the cell or the internet phone do any thing. look it up.

so try calling 911 and ask them where they are located at. and if they know your locate at. tell them your just tested your system.

all you have to do is 911 and tell them that you are check to make sure if some happen it does work. they will have no problem with that.

I don't even know if it is worth replying to this thread since there "some people" who already have their mind made up and are just here to say the SAME mis-information OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER...

But yes I have tested my 911 service on vonage and I get a police station less then a mile from my house. As does my cousin that uses vonage. As does my brother that uses vonage.

so far your they only that can say by call 911 they know the location of the call if you say nothing.

as a kid would or if you could not

1, You may want to proof read your posts and go for content that makes sense rather then posting every 30 seconds.

2. What proof do YOU have of YOUR claims? I referenced a FCC regulation and 3 personal experiences with vonage all that I can personally vouch for that their 911 service works perfectly and calls a local number. Your only point (as far as I can tell) is "no the companies ignore the FCC regulation" and "no the 911 service doesnt work". Which companies have you personally tested? Can you post a single link to proof that ANY company is in violation of the FCC regulation?
