Wp-40 failed

Just had my MP40 failed on me. Walked by the tank and saw lights on the controller blinking. The pump was turning with the blink but not really pushing any water. I had new extra wp40 so I swapped out the controller but same issue. Then I tried replacing the AC/DC adapter and that was the problem. Now I need to look into the warrantee and getting a replacement adapter from Jebao.
Hope this helps anyone encountering this issue.

Not for a 24v 2.5A one.
Plus we just received it less than a month. So I'm not excited about buying replacement parts already. I hope they have GOOD customer's service.

I think you are being a bit too hopeful. I wouldn't assume Jebao's customer service will be easy to work with if they exist at all. There is a reason they are significantly cheaper then other powerheads with similar specs (and do you remember the hassle our group buy leader went through to get them sorted and sent??)

If you need replacement parts quickly, maybe try contacting fish street? I have heard they ship quickly.

Do not get the adjustable ac/dc adapater from fish-street. The one I got from FS fried within a week. Get the one from amazon if you want adjustable voltage, but you probably have the new controller.

FS will probably give you a new one, but you will have to pay for shipping.
The shipping was the same price as a new one from amazon shipped with prime.

Which one would you order from Amazon? I overflowed my ATO while filling it up and fried one of my AC adapters.

I understand that, I got 2 WP40's through the Group Buy and need to replace an adapter that I fried on my own and would like to know which adapter I can buy from Amazon to use as a replacement.

I had an adapter stop working the first day I pulled it in. I unplugged it and tried again the next day and it worked fine. Has been running a few weeks now without issue.

I have the WEIRDEST issue with one of my WP25 adapters. If power gets cut to it, it will not start back up at all on the same circuit. I can try every other outlet on the power strip it was on, a different power strip or even directly into the outlet itself. Absolutely nothing. BUUUT, I discovered that if I plug it into a different wall outlet, that's on a different breaker, it turns right on. I can unplug it and plug it right back in to where it was (the outlet that was unresponsive literally seconds before) and it starts right up.
This scenario is repeatable, does not happen with my other wp25 nor is there any funky business with anything else plugged into these outlets.
If you tell me I'm incorrect I would not blame you, as my (admittedly limited) electrical knowledge says this makes zero sense.
:lolspin::lolspin:

Anyway, I've looked into replacement adapters and would agree, not cheap/easy to find something that will match these specs. I figure that while I got a smoking price, I'm living with one of the downsides of the group purchase: I'm on my own. I've considered picking up one from Fish Street for the adapter which would leave me with an extra pump too.

Well that didn't take long.

Did anyone honestly believe there wouldn't be at least some issues like this? That would be pretty naive, IMO. I went into it well aware of the risks and in spite of the issue I have, would do it all over again.

Not a local to your forum but thought I'd share to Try Jamecodotcom if you can't find one.. Not local to you but they have everything electrical and I believe they are mail order also.. I'm local and have had to get a ecotech MP power assembly replaced I paid less than $20 in store for what they wanted a lot more for at ecotech.. Quality parts at reasonable prices.. Even carry led drivers for cheap all name brand..

Sucks that it happened but It happens even on the top brand pumps and that's an easy fix IMO..

Not much to say here...... there is reason I didn't buy some.
you get what you pay for........
there is a reason why quality costs money just saying.

Something is telling me that the crew at Ecotech is smiling about this. I bought a pair of WP40s off ebay, about $150 IIRC, maybe $170?. They've been running for 5 months or so. My MP40s have been running about 2 months longer.
I already experienced a problem with one of my MP40s. I had a replacement from Ecotech in my tank in 3 days. There's a thread in Ecotech's forum here for documentation.
If a WP40 has a problem, I will try to follow the warranty path with Jaebo, but I don't expect to find satisfaction, much less, satisfaction in 3 days.
To the OP, you should certainly try to get a replacement, but don't bang your head against the wall if you get the run around.

For people who are knocking on the jebao and padding themselves on the back for not purchasing, lay off. If you don't have anything to contribute to help fix the problem, restrain from telling us why your such a genius for not purchasing...

This kind of reminded me of how a Lexus owner bragged after my crappy nissan broke down in front of his house. Telling me why he stayed away from purchasing crappy stuff :/

Well I guess this is a open forum, if that makes you feel better, disreguard my post...

Everyone who bought these jebaos knew what they are getting into when they ordered them

+1

One of these units are bound to have a problem anyway.... So unless everybody's jebao or atleast the majority start to fail, I'll reserve my judgement.

on a side note, I've own 2-3 MP10 (new and old style), 3 (MP40w ES).

I've had 2 of the MP40w broke down on me and needed replacement, and all 3 of the MP10 eventually needing some kind of part to replace it. This is the part where Ecotech wins in term of Customer Support, not sure about jebao since I've never dealt with them yet.
