Wrong Anemone?

I ordered a GBTA from a online store and today it got here. After looking at it I really dont belive that they sent me a GBTA. Im really thinking it could be a long tentical anemone. Here are some pictures of it in my bucket getting a drip done before moving it to my tank. Please let me know what you think it is. Thanks for helping me out on this and if it is a long tentical I guess I better do some reading up on them so I can keep it happy. And if its not then Im happy with what I got.

thats a LTA. A healthy looking one too. They like to bury their foot in the sand. 4+ inch. Lows low to medium flow. That anemone does better with MH but T5 with individual reflector would be fine. Nice anemone too by the way. Post a pics when in your tank

I sure will post pictures of it when its in my tank. Now I have to do some reading up on them. Plus make a phone call tomorrow about it. Where is a good place to find some info about them?

I forgot to put down the size of it right now its only about 2" wide shrunk up like that and about 4" long in the picture.

Nice one. They are pretty easy to take care of when they find a spot to settle in. Mine eats chunks of silverside and shrimp. It should do fine under T5s.

How do you get them to take to the sand? I have placed it in my tank in a nice sandy area for it. I have turned off all of the pumps hopping that it will put its foot down in the sand. But to no luck so far. The funny thing is as soon as I set it in the tank my pink skunks went right for it. And they have been staying in some frogspawn too thats the funny thing. It is opening up more and I think that Im really going to like this one it has some really bright green tips but also there is some red mixed in there with it too. I will keep everyone posted and up to date one it and how there mistake just might be something in my favor. Only time will tell.

try digging a hole and putting the anemone there and gently cover the base with sand. Yea, they're almost like BTA very hardy anemone.

Dig a hole in the sand for it near a rock and then place it in the hole. If it is healthy enough it should do the rest of the work. Make sure its in a low water movement area. They don't like strong flow. Your pink skunks will help it settle in. Yeah it took my pink skunks only a second to realise what that anemone was. It didn't have its foot all the way in the sand before the pink skunk moved in. May I ask who gave you a LTA insted of a BTA?

I dont want to say untill I can talk to them first. I do know the LTA was more than the BTA so I really cant say much. Plus it looks really healthy to boot. It has started to dig in plus my pink skunks are helping it out alot by pushing it in the sand more. It is kind of fun watching them roll around in it and play in it. They are some really happy clowns now.

LTA more than a BTA?!?? A local fish store by me has tank raised LTA's that are HUGE for $30, little tiny BTA are $50+.

It does look like a beautiful anemone though!

To the best of my knowledge there are no methods to culture LTA anemones and all retail specimens are wild caught. He may be culturing bta that happen to look very similar to LTA. Look at the unerside, as LTAs have the verucaue and BTA do not.

I thought that I would post a update on it and also a new picture. Let me know what you think of it. Its not the brighest colored one out there but hey Im enjoying it even though its not what I ordered. Sometimes you have to take what is given to you and make due.
