Not a very good return policy, I was about to order from them. if THEY ship you the wrong product you have to PAY RETURN shipping?? AND get hit with a 20% restock fee?? I think I'll look elsewhere if that is the case. And the return statistics, usually means that they are making it VERY hard for you to return?? Too many restrictions & rules.... Too bad, I needed to order about $600 in MH lighting

I apologize if we are not clear.

Just to clarify, if we send you something by mistake we will not ask you to pay return shipping or a restocking fee.

Our policy was created (with permission) from a large dot-com. Naturally, we work off of razor thin margins. The main thing we and other dot-coms are trying to avoid is for product to be sent back with missing parts, return shipping damage, empty box of rocks, not purchased here, etc. While the message on the website might sound abrasive, we hope that it helps acheive the objective making the return process fast and efficient for our customers. If any part of the policy is not standard or unreasonable, please email returns@marinedepot.com

To everybody: As far as we know, we do not have a difficult return system as I do not hear all that many complaints here. If somebody has feedback, I would be extremely eager to hear them. Please email returns@marinedepot.com

Thank you for the reply & clarification. I have been reading more posts here & it seems like overall the response is positive. I haven't had any problems ordering online (usually PC parts) from other companies. Your pricing seems very good, it was just the policy that someone pointed out that seemed a bit off.

Just an FYI
I ordered a Korallin Calcium Reactor kit with the Regulator from Marine Depot.

I was not at all happy with the regulator assembly, too hard to adjust, I was always messing with it. I went down to the local welding gas supply house and picked up a Victor CO2 Regulator.
I then emailed Marine Depot and told them I was not happy with the M2 assembly they sent me. I recieved a RMA # in a few hours of sending the email.
I shipped back the regulator and received a full refund on my credit card before the next billing cycle.

Good enough for me! :D

Am I to understand that you used the regulator and then sent it back? How long did you use it for?

apples and oranges.

Its clear the regulator was defective. If your familiar with CO2 Regulators, provided the tank contains pressure, it either works or it doesn't.

I used the regulator for a week, and there is a little more to them than off and on.

The assembly would not keep constant pressure, I would adjust it to 10 bubbles per minute, watch it for several hours and it would be fine, go to bed, and in the morning still the same 10 to 11 bubbles per minute. I would leave for work, 5 am, and when I get home from work and find it producing 20 + bubbles per minute and the pressure on the low pressure side of the regulator had climbed 8 to 10 psi. It was most likely a weak spring in the regulator which allowed it to increase pressure slowly over the course of the day. The house is air conditioned so it was not a temp. rise causing the changes.
I adjusted the thing every day until I was fed up, I went to Bay Airgas and purchased the Victor HRF 2425 regulator/flowmeter, single stage.

Although the flowmeter is not capable of measuring the tiny amount of gas used by the Calcium reactor, I set the needle valve the day it arrived and have not spent more than 5 minutes with it since I brought it home. :)

It cost me $121 dollars, and does not have the electric solenoid switch which comes on the M2, I will add that later.
