XL Gigantea

This came in yesterday.
Had set up a Quarantine tank That I did not have to use after all, looks good and has settled, the plan was to place it in Qt and Treat with Ciprofloxazin but it turned out not to be needed :)

I was sold to me as Gigantea but it has short bubble tentacles so im thinking maybe its a Haddoni?
Tho the color is not quite as intensive as on Hadonis carpets.

Very nice, looks like a haddoni to me. Keep an eye on it since new nems can appear healthy but then take a turn for the worst rather quickly. Good luck!

it is a haddoni. some vendor persist that they know what they are talking about. in fact they think when the carpet is large it is a gigantea. i even told one vendor if his carpet is a gig i will give him a $100 if i am mistaken, he persists on advertising it as a gig.

we as buyer should persist on getting the picture of the underside, or else we just dont buy it, unless you dont mind getting a haddoni.

Well im happy if its a Haddoni :Þ
Should color up quite nicely i hope, had to tear down the rockwork and remove a Bubbel tip to fit the Stichodactyla in the middle, need to rework the sps and glue them down so the snails and urchin dont push em into the carpet.

Geting a 300G plexy tank that i was going to put some of my catfish into but im starting to think i should try selling them and put SW into it..

I personally think Haddonis a prettyer but have had bad luck with them.

This Nems are never imported or rearly at best to the lfs.
We get the lists of what the exporter has and almost none of them bother with photos of actual animals for sale. so its quite a gamle to ask for a carpet as the shiping is ofter quite hard on them.I want a Red Haddoni but thats an arm in price for something i wont be able to inspect until its shipped.

One thing i forgot to mention is that when i removed her from the bag she was not sticky at all..

So Haddoni or Giga?
My previous Haddoni's had shorter tentacles

Pic from tonight, seems to still be somewhat happy.
In the process of burying its foot.

It's a Haddoni. I'd go ahead and start Cipro. Pic #4 is textbook "pancake" and the spirocyst not firing is another strike.

Pic 4 is just after putting it into the tank after acclimation.
She looks super nice and has not deflated once since into the tank.
She is still expanding in the tank and i think if she could lay her disk out on flat ground she would be easily 15"

Very nice pick up on a green Haddoni mouth and shorter tentacles is a tell sign for me it's Haddoni. Very nice. One thing about Haddoni is they move quite often at least from my experience they do this is why I prefer gig. I wouldn't treat it unless it goes down hill and you'll know when. Good luck

She has Pooped a little bit of rat poop, grain sized.
there is no difference in appearance.
At night she is quite active with her disk (not deflating) and move's around more so than at day.
Tentacles are also quite active and moving?

She has been doing ok until tonight..She has been getting stickier but still has not attached and tonight i believe i caught her deflating..

Only half of her is like that and she has been for some time like that this evening.
Im in the process of getting Ro water but not sure if i need to use the Ro since im in a rush i could just use tap water since its only measuring 20-27 TDS (7TDS after Ro)
Xmas tomorrow and il be @ the family's dinner..
I got the spare tank salt pump heater and Cipro need the divider..

Nice looking Haddoni, I would definitely treat it looking at those last two pictures. I would not wait either, the longer you wait the worse off they will get and could get past the point of saving them or not.

Im just Worry i do more harm tearing it out of DT that's stable and throwing it into Qt.
Ob stress does not help.

Anyway the water in the Qt is warming up, if its still doing that then its Treatment time.
I paid close to 200$ for this thing so it better live...
