ydkm sps reef

Crazy how much coraline algae you have in just a little over two months from bleach out white dry rock. I also notice no green algae at all...what's with the Singapore water bro...lol...keep it up.

Well done, very beautiful tank"¦... do you feed your corals?
I only feed my fish tdo pellet twice a day + dosing sponge power and coral vit from day to day. Does that consider feeding my corals? :D
Really nice tank and system.

If that new addition is a Goldflake Angel, keep an eye on it. I think I'm going to have to pull one from my tank. He's nipping at corals and doing damage. Wish this wasn't the case. They're really beautiful as they mature.

Following along here :)
Yes it is a gold flake. It has been nipping on most of my sps! Im having very little pe now during lighting period. But i feel it is worth it! For the sake of having angel in my tank as a show fish hahah (:
That "blue Hoeksemai" is going to turn into a BEAUTIFUL coral. I can see lots of nice colours appearing on it. Keep up the good work buddy. [emoji106]
Thanks man [emoji16]
Your corals are looking really good and healthy. Hows your goldflake doing?
Has been very greedy in eating. Can't wait for it to grow to a bigger size!
I am jealous you make me sick! J/K can you come redo my tank? LOL

beautiful set up I am really am jealous
Hahhaha thanks for the compliment!!
Very nice tank! Only suggestion I have is to make sure you leave the corals enough space to grow.
Agree on that. Now i am regretting not going for a 5ft tank in the beginning ):
Truly Beautiful with great inspiration. well planned with great colors1
Thank you!
your tank is bananas. super jealous.
Im going bananas over maintaining the tank haha!

The secret is... High magnesium!!
I swear it works! I faced huge algae problems during the first month of my tank. I then raised the mg to 1800ppm with continuum mg (liquid bottle), all of my algaes started to turn transparent and melted off. THEN, the coralline started growing like its on steroid. In just 1month of maintaining 1800ppm mg, about 80% of my rocks were covered with coralline.

Yes that's how fast it is. Im not even joking! Mg is amazing. IMO, when a rock is fully covered with coralline, it will be very hard for green hair algae to grow on. [emoji16]

Simply Beautiful, makes me almost speechless. ;)
Thanks for the compliment!

That is very true. I had the same experience when I dose 3 part; and artificially keep Mg levels elevated. Currently, I dont dose Mg and let water changes take care of it. I have very limited Coralline algae.

Do you have secrets to colouring up stubborn brown corals? I have a few brown ones that refuse to colour up!

Yes I have the same issue - lack of PE during lighting period. And unfortunately, as he grows, the nipping becomes damage to corals and not just retracted polyps. I'll have to make a decision. He's a beautiful fish, but not sure I can keep him in the main display.

Idontknowyou :D But I do know you have some happy healthy corals and glad you're showing them off . Following and always learning something new.

Which salt brand are you using? And how often and how much % water change are you doing? Do you dose any supplements/additives/trace elements? Thanks.

Hi guys, i have just changed from dosing pump to calcium reactor. And im very happy with the results it gave.

2 noticeable improvement
-improved water clarity
-improved growth! I can see many small branches are starting to come off.

Here is my cr :

If white balance can be adjusted the photo colors will get better performance.

Ty sahin!
HW-Marine Mix Reefer. Its my favourite salt right now and i will only use this. Pe is all over the sps after wc. And it mixes so fast! Has no residues like i faced in red sea. I try to change 12% everyweek. Sometime once every 2 week if i feel lazy [emoji12]
Additives are :
-Biogro 123 (weekly)
-FM color elements (weekly)
-FM min S (every 2 day, alt with coral balance)
-FM coral balance (every 2 day, alt with min S)
-ZV coral vitaliser sometimes
-ZV sponge power sometimes
Awesome!!

What is your light schedule and did you changed your t5 combo?
