Could you please address the contagious nature of MHLLE. Specifically, is it contageous? Will other species of fishes Get MHLLE if they swim with a fish who has it? Should we avoid purchasing fish from LFS if they have a fish in the system with MHLLE? Should the fish in our systems be removed and "treated"? Thank you for an informative article.

In my opinion, it does not seem to be contagious, but since no one knows for sure what causes it, it is impossible to say definitively if it is contagious or not.
