Your Reef recon

Went to Your Reef in Roseville today. Good experience.

A handful of other customers there, most of them eyeing corals intently. One other customer asking detailed questions about equipment and receiving equally detailed answers.

Staff was attentive, even while busy. Noted that maintenance was being performed by one employee (always good to see as long as it's done when customer service doesnt' suffer) and both persons who were obviously working there appeared to take reasonable precautions regarding introducing contaminants etc. Apparently met Jon/John (owner I believe). Nice guy. Asked questions about a product, got reasonable answers.

What time were you there today? I was in the store around 1:10 getting a phosban reactor and a CO2 regulator for my calcium reactor plus a few other miscellaneous items.

I'd say between 4:40 and 4:55pm.

Yeah, I've only been reefing for about a month, but Your Reef and Coral Reef have the best customer service of any place I know.

Your reef is the place to go for quality and knowledge. John has a true love for our hobby and it comes across every time I speak with them.

Its always great when a person comes into the LFS business from being successful in the hobby and not otherwise. John is a great resource and I'm very glad he opened his business in a retail store. I always stop by whenever I'm in the Sac area.

Its just a shame he is always too busy to shoot the breeze......I will drive across town and wait for an hour there than up the road for crappy attitudes anyday of the week

I just got back from YR. I got there at 11 and left at 1. It was pretty slow this morning, so I got to "shoot the breeze" I picked up a new gomezi frag and a unknown as well. The closest we could come up with would be a Lokani, white with blue tips and white polyps.

i usually go by in the late afternoon. John is a great guy and is incredibly knowledgeable. His devotion to captive propagation is exactly as we all should be. He is the only place i go to anymore to buy what i need, or seek advice. And if you have a special request he will try and find it.

Just chiming in ... I can't say enough about John. He's always been more than friendly and helpful. My first experiences with him were browsing the tanks in his garage on Saturday/Sunday mornings! Very knowledgeable about his livestock, and not afraid to pick up the phone and call someone if there's a question he can't confidently answer.
