I was in talking to John today, and he told me he will now be closed on mondays and tuesdays. Said he was going to start to make his trips to L.A. again.

His "assistant" is Rob. Rob used to be a very active member of this board until they banned him because they falsely claimed that he was running a business when he was selling frags of his corals to club members. Too bad Rob is gone, because he was one of the most knowledgable members.

I wasn't involved with his banning, and have no intention in getting involved in it, but I can tell you that no one guessing on this thread has it right so far. Sometimes making assumptions when you only know part of the story can make you appear foolish to those who do.

I happen to think people who volunteer their valuable time and effort so other people can profit from their work appear foolish. I'm baffled why you guys don't get paid for your work moderating this site, since a large portion of the moderation seems to be focused on deleting criticisms or banning competition of sponsors. Does anybody ask questions about where all that money goes?

Since you are actively involved in running another, competing BB site, perhaps your criticism might seem a bit, um, biased. You can make slams about what you THINK the agenda is that we have. Our true agenda is quite different - running the best Reefkeeping bulletin board we can.
Quite frankly, since you making these types of comments can certainly appear to be snide remarks from a jealous competitor, why don't you keep it to yourself or post it on your own board.

We don't discuss other member's removal with uninvolved parties. Just because you want to know doesn't mean you have any "right" to the information. Sorry.

I've never attempted to hide who I am and what I represent to the members of this club. I used to have an "RDO Admin" sig line but that got deleted by someone. However, my involvement with RDO is irrelevant in my criticisms of RC and I'm surprised you even brought it up. We're in competition with this site like the Salvation Army is in competition with the Gap. We're a .org, and no one profits from the site.
I would keep these thoughts to myself, but see, the thing is that a lot of people in this club share these thoughts with me. I get to talk to them in person, and people actually tell me they're afraid of speaking up for fear of being banned.
