Zeovit SPS reefs

You might want to run that by a...uh...zeolot:p . I've read before that if the current is run through too fast, it can have very detrimental effects.

Very True. Having too much flow going through your zeorocks will cause either STN or RTN. Just be careful when chosing a pump, you wouldn't want to mess up your tank from having too much flow in the canister filter.

any pics?

Do u notice a difference??

i have only been using for 4 1/2 weeks, but yes i am seeing positive results already.

Do you live in NJ? I buy my stuff from smcooler as well. His tank was awesome BEFORE using zeo. He has the nicest tank i have ever seen in person. Very talented.

My guess would be that it would take longer for results to occur or you would need to stir up the zeorocks more often due to slower flow and stuff getting caught on those zeorocks.

i ran zeo for 3 months

i bought the 4 basic and i bought a reactor
hanna phosphate tester
also bought (carbon, amino acids (both of them) kbalance)

to be honest it never worked for me (all i kept getting was algea the more and longer i used it the more algea i got) i have stoped for 3 month and have finally started to get a hold on the algea.

since off the system the corals have doubled in size

i dont want to sway you but they tryed to help me get the system going --- i started to stn on my purple monster and i stoped the system--in A WEEK LATER THE STN STOPPED

i am keeping to the basics

calcium reactor
and water changes

For those who use Reefers Best Salt to be careful in your Zeovit since it contains High KH more than normal giving 7/8.

Zeovit works I have seen the results in my tank and others. Its not that diffiucult to use either. I consider the effort it takes to be worth it. But its not for everyone. Just as some prefer sand others dont.

This is one case . I have had bad batches of a few brands of salt and heard of countless others. Make up water should always be tested for this reason.

9 months using Zeo and love it!

I personaly had a bad experience with zeovit. I ran it for 3 mounths than stopped. I didnt notice any diferance in my tank and I was still testing detectable nitrates. I just swiched my tank to BB and now I have no nitrates. I also had an abnormal alkalinity/PH spike while using zeovit. my PH went as high as 8.6 and my alkalinity went up to 16 DKH. I dont know if the alkalinity issue was caused by the zeo or it may have been a coincidence.
I think the ZEO caused it because it my alkalinity got realy high after I stoped cycling the reactor and switched it to running full time

Zeovit does not raise alk. I saw in your other thread that you dose kalk. I would think that was behind your ph / alk spike.

here's stan's tank...i think he's been using zeo less than a year. i used it from 1/06 to 6/06, got real busy w/ work and stopped zeo. just started up again and i already notice water more clear, better PE and i swear i notice alittle improved color already. anyway here's stan's:

I didnt start using Kalk until recently. at that time I was using Kent marine turbo calcium which dosent affect PH or alkalinity

I am probably just going to go with the basic 4 of the zeovit system on my tank. I have a 55, so it would not cost that much to run it.
