Zero to One Hundred in 0.8 Seconds

As I understand it, running a 6100 in the 1 - 29% range is harmful to the pump; I've heard through the grapevine that it is okay to alternate from 0% and 30%+

Is that the case? How about on the 6055? I'm alternating the flow every 0.8 sec if that matters...

I believe Roger has mentioned that 30% is the minimum because typically the RPM's at that speed are about the amount required to continue rotation. If you set it lower, the pump will likely be stuttering and/or turning off due to too low of rotation speed.

I take it you mean off to 30%? This would be OK. The speeds between 0% and 30% are the problem, just as RokieM said, there is not enough rotational speed to keep it steady, like a slow gyroscope.

I think that would be OK, that is basically what the Nano wavebox is doing but you should know that with such a short cycle it will probably never really reach 100%. It would probably take almost 2 seconds to reach full speed.

Thanks Roger, not reaching 100% is fine. I've experimented with both 0-100% and 30-100%, and the 0-100% gives a much larger wave-motion.

The 6100 takes 0-100% well, the 6055s don't seem to like it -- they click, so I'll keep them at 30-100%

We made a design change to solve this click, when did you buy your pumps? It is a retrofittable change.

PM me your name and address, the drive unit didn't change to the new non clicking style until November.

how are you going to get it to go to 0 then 100?

I have two 6100 and would love to have one side turn on 100 well the other side is 0 then reverse it. can this be done? I am running the 7094 controller.

Roger

Use Interval or Tide mode and plug one pump into the first socket and one into the last, set all your knobs to 100%. This would be off (0) to 100 every minute if you set a one minute interval.

No, it will, it will alternate back and forth, in sequence mode it won't turn off but in Interval (formerly called tide) it will.

I found my manual but what I was looking for was not in it. What are the differnce simbles mean? pulse wave ect.... What one is what?

Thanks Roger

The pulsed straight arrow is pulse flow, the two arrows pointed at each other (head to head) is tide mode, the arrows that are tip to tail are sequence.

Thanks Roger, the spacer/impeller upgrade is working perfectly. Being able to drop to 0% makes a huge difference to wave production.
