Zoa Collection

Im sorry but this is a useless post. All you're going to achieve is getting people to debat what is rare and what isn't. Price is subjective. Some people will pay 5 bucks a polyp, some will pay 100 bucks a polyp. linage is very difficult to actually "prove". Someone might have been told that their perune PPE's came from a guy that got them from the second person that Blaine gave them too. That's awfully similiar to my uncles cousins bestfriends mom said......

Are you trying to start a catalogue of rare/expensive zoa's? I agree with aquarius77, it may cost 5/polyp this month, 100/polyp next month when it's hot and then 10/polyp in another 3 months when it's saturated the market.

Why don't you start the post by posting up your rare zoa's, telling us what you paid for them, their retail price, and lineage.

I don't mean any of this as a cut down or to make anyone upset!

If anything I'd love to see some coral's that someone can reliably tell me the lineage of. Will Blaine Perun come on here and show us his originals? That would be cool! How about Steve Tyree, let's see some of his stuff in his tanks!

If anyone wants to argue please just PM me and leave this thread to what it was intended for.

Thanks,

Scott

No not really a catalogue, but mostly pics.
I know most of the rare zoas already, but it would be nice to see peoples pics, and hear their experiences with them.

I never understood the obsession with "rare" corals anyways. Take the PPE zoos for example, IMO they are some of the ugliest zoos I have seen and I wouldnt pay more than 2$ a polyp for them and people are fetching $100 for a 3-5 polyp frag.

PPEs are one of the ugliest and most boring zoas out there but I see people selling them on the selling forums people for a lot and they sell quickly........wuts up with that?

I'm happy with my tubs blue zoos.........soooo nice!

While I can't agree with you that PPE's are ugly, I think the purple green contrast under the right lighting is quite striking!

There are plenty of threads on here already showing off zoa's collections, just read those. you'd have waayyyyyyy more luck getting people to post up pictures if you left price out of it.

Plus I find that the people that know they have a rare or tough to get your hands on coral don't often share pics. my guess is they fear the ensuing barrage in the inbox of PM's asking for a frag.

Just my 2 cents.

My Most rare ones are solid chocolate brown...the polyps are unremarkable by themselves; however, as they cover a rock they begin to look like a Woolly Mammoths Nut Sack!!!

Someday I will post pics....then everyone will be wanting to $$pay$$ to get their hands on the WM Nut Sacks.

not sure what these are, just got them cause i liked them.
cost about 30 bucks for a 50 polyp colony.
they could be real common, i have no idea.

A fish store over in charlotte (everyone who lives nearby will know who) wanted $799 for a Zoa rock about the size of 2 fists with rainbow zoas on it.
