Zoo Fungus Treatment questions (Tetracycline & Marycin)

Would anyone have any advice on how to proceed with making the 'dip'? For example, did you use both medications? How long did you dip them? Did you use your tank water or RO water? How often did you apply the dip? Did you place the infected colonies in higher flow areas?

Thanks a lot.

those two medications will do nothing to fungus. Tetracycline is an antibiotic (for bacterial infections). Marycin is erythromycin which is also an antibiotic.

gw11ucb, I know what their applications are (don't need a lesson on that).

If you do some reading, you will find that people are using these antibiotics to treat fungus and other infections such as 'zoa pox'. I just want to hear from those people who have used them.

Well I bought a couple of antibiotics.. one is Furan 2 and the other a Fungal antibiotic. I will try this out and see if it works, because the stuff is spreading.

Is it a white film that spreads over the zoas overnight.

Marycin will stop it cold if it is. I move the infected zoas into QT and treat them for 2 days with a double dose. I found iodine usless in this type of "fungus" if thats the type you have. I think it is bacterial in nature.

My zoas had a fungus and tried Tetracycline with zero success. Furan-2 however knocked it out in 2 dips.

Here is what it looked like on the polyps

Well, I am doing the Furan 2 treatment on all of my zoas (Since they have exactly what you have pointed out). I am in the process of doing my first dip. They are all going to go into the QT, until they get better.

Don't get worried when they start to look bleached or loose color as they will do that for a long while till they fully recover...

Make sure you do put them in a QT or somewhere in the tank where the Larger ampipods cant bother or eat them...
