Awesome setup! I would have said SCREW IT after that tank broke. You're way more patient than me! :D

So what did you get at the frag swap? :D

Got a luminark reflector half trade half cash, traded for a huge yuma, and bought some FL rics for a friend. Even made a few $$ which will be put aside for when I'm ready to stock the new tank.

Ok, got the thing plumbed and half filled with water.

The return I have on it now is only a rio 1700, I'm still deciding on which pump I should use. The sump is a baffled 40gal. I may mode the G4x to get the OF directly feed into the skimmer and have the Sedra 9000 on recirculation.

Looking good Raskal!

What I want to know is when are you going to host a frag tank building workshop???

I'll bring the beer. :p

Well since I had all the acrylic pre cute it was just a matter of putting it together and putting weldon in the seems. I'd say on a scale from 1-10 its a 4. But if you want a perfect seem its very hard probably a 9.

Next order of business is to get the electrical and lighting done. I also have to move about 60-70lb of live rock from a holding tank to the sump. I dont think the sump will hold it all so I may have to put some in the prop tank.

I heard that it is very important to have as straight of an edge as possible. I guess it was easier to have the sheets professionally cut.

Wow man... you should get the RC "Get er' done" award.

Nice job

How far is that eggcrate off the bottom? Is it all one peice or are you able to get it out in sections?

Its about 3.5 inch from the bottom, enough for a Seio M1100 on its side. So I only have about 3.5 inch of water from the egg crate to the top of the water line. I can always lower the egg crated when needed. Its all one piece right now but I plan on cutting it in 3 section on each side for easy cleaning and frag recovery.

Why don't you lower the eggcrate, put the pump on top of the eggcrate, pointed downwards with a nozzle or something to direct the flow sideways?

Since the light will be at least 18" hight I'd rather have the frags as high up as possible. 3.5" should be more then enough room for any frag. I may only lower half of one side for the mother colonies and other corals I may want to keep in the system. Besides the Seio tend to suck in air when its high up in a tank.

Got the tanks filled up and the Seio 1100 in last night and holly cow the Seio 1100 hits the other side of the 4 foot tank and comes back around as a wave !!! I wish it could do that in my 24" deep tank :D Anyway this is going to be the end of the build. I'm going to go buy tones of zoos in about 2 weeks to stock the sytem. I'll post pictures of what I get then.

Thanks everyone
