Sweet rock stack, I love that new shelf. I want the engineer goby for my tank :) I like those fish for some reason.

Thanks Nate. They sent us an amazing piece of shelf rock. Its over 2 ft. wide. The Pukani rock situated at the top is extremely light and porous and has many holes and crevaces making it extremely easy to mount corals. The engineer ngoby is very fun to0 watch but they live up to their name by constant burrowing and excavating so the rock stack needs to be stable to prevent rockslides.
My hope is that now we can get good corraline coverage and diminishing nuisance algae. Sps should really thrive now.

The stack looks great. After some water changes, I'm fascinated to see how the algae situation turns out. Keep us posted.

I was at the zoo this am to do some work. Since adding the new rock, the tank looks amazing! There is only the slightest trace of algae. And that's before even doiung a water change which I will do tomorrow. Corals are all thriving. Now I feel confident to more aggressively populate the tank with sps etc. I will glue in some more frags tomorrow. Vince also stated he will place some computer fans into the canopies to help with heat issues. The zoo situated some fans to help with cooliung and the vent has been apparently working.

Encourage them to install a large exhaust fan. This will remove moist air and other nefarious air born floatulance.

Thanx to Dave and Vince for wiring in some computer fans and to Steve for his assistancce and moral support. I placed in large frags of acro humilis, Marshall Is;and Staghorn and a green nepthia. I also did a water change on both displays. For the first time I can honestly say that I am pleased with how the display is looking (knock on wood!).

We got that piece from Tim at ABC Reefs. It was a 40+ lb. rock. Possibly the coolest single piece of rock I ever saw.

I had my name on it for my 70gal I'm still building. Tim asked, if someone wants it, what should I do? I said, let it go. I'm so glad it went somewhere where it can be appreciated by many people.

When I was snorkling in Maui I saw a rock jutting out of the reef that looked just like it. So much in fact, I snapped a shot of it. Sorry for the poor quality:
