0.7 Gallon Pico Cube Experiment.

Awesome, we hit the 100 post mark!

I didn't even think about using a themed knob, cool website Bryan. Kinda like the anchor knob...it goes along with the rope. I just happened to have these knobs out in the garage.

Thank you everyone for keeping the thread alive...now I'm gonna go get some painting done.

HUH? No, no, I said I was fried...tired. Man, kinda scared me for a second like you knew something I didn't. :)

Thanx for the support anyway though.

You should apply at a Sprint store. I was a Consultant with Sprint a while back. You can work part time there (26 hours per week) and get full benefits (med, den, and vision. unlimited employee plan) and 9 bucks an hour plus commission. Per month you average about 1000 in commission part time.

I enjoyed it while I was there.

lol, is there a pico tank of the month contest?

If there was, I would be happy just to be entered into it.

Man, dwarf seahorses would be really cool, but I would be afraid of stability in this little water volume. Plus I've never kept seahorses...all I know is they eat and poop a lot.

One thing I really need to tackle is figuring out a mini protein skimmer. ANYONE OUT THERE WITH ADVANCED ACRYLIC FABRICATION SKILLS FOR HIRE?

Thank you for the kind words everyone,

Jacob

way to small ofa tank for dwafves youd never be able to keep em in it. Sorry cant help you much with the mini protein skimmer BUT is it really worth making one? its less than a gallon of water man haha.

what are you doing with the lighting?

For now I am going to keep the LED array that I made over the tank. Down the road I think I will give the CCFLs a whirl.

I just think it would be nice to have a protein skimmer running on it...that is if one this small would function properly. For water quality and clarity. I get the feeling that it isn't really feasible with the available equipment on the market right now.

The only thing I can really think of is doing a small airstone skimmer...but those bring their own issues.

It's too bad the Fission Nano Skimmer is such a piece of junk b/c it would actually fit in the sump!

Jacob

I agree, I had the Fusion skimmer on my 12- microbubble city, plus it didn't skim very much.

I saw some designs on RC for using 2 five gallon water jugs to do a RC skimmer. I thought about doing the same with 2 baby bottles. You could use your drain to feed it and a small Rio pump to recirculate it.

Well i just designed a 3-3.5" protein skimmer. I just finished ordering all of the parts to do it. When im finished i will show plans and specs on it.

And for the pump i used this pump off of this lil HOB filter, just got a diff impeller on it so it blew out water, instead of sucking it in, then made a needle wheel for it. Ill try to find out what HOB filter it was.

I wanted to throw something together to give you an idea. This thing wont win any beauty contest but it works. I used a maxijet 400 for the RC pump. The only thing you dont see is the collection cup. Which could be another bottle. All made with 1/2 cpvc, bottle and I use the bottom half of the maxijet for the top piece.
