$1 per gallon tank sale!

Santa Clarita Petco has a 40 gallon breeder for $40 and a 40 gallon wide viewing Oceanic Hex that normally sells for $250! now on sale for $40!!!

These two tanks looked great! I have no more room, but hurry these won't last

******************

Westwood Petco has a Oceanic 40 gallon 6 sided tank? for $40 also. It looked really cool. $250 normally!

They also said the 75 gallon AGA Regular glass was on sale, however, I'm not sure how it will scan as the add says up to 55. If you can get this tank at $75 (you got a heck of a deal), it retails for $300 I believe. They also had a wide selection of regular and corner units (most I have seen for this sale on my hunt).

Best of luck, hope this helps a bit

(This sale on Oceanic Aquariums is the BEST sale I have ever seen! These are phenominal tanks with respect to quality). Petco I love you!

Petco off of 57/210 had a 40 breeder and a 33 cube, but there is a small chip/crack on the glass...only 33 bucks.

All the glass tanks are onsale just have to ask the guy to double check...I been to 4-5 places and they told me...\"no only all glass aquarium tank\" but after they check the price on the oceanic...they were shocked at 1 per gal.

Petco in Huntington Beach on Magnolia and Adams has a 40 breeder in stock as of last night. I went looking for a cube... Any near HB?

chaffey, how do you like the Oceanic Cubes? I am hot after them as I have known Oceanic to make one of the best glass aquariums and I love the cube look. So I figure Oceanic plus cube look = quality tank.

My F1sh R D34D!, were those square cubes or the 40 gallon stretch hex? So far I have only seen the 30 gallon cubes, but 40 would be great as well.

Thnx!

If they show it as tax on the receipt they best be giving it to the State. They can't charge tax on the higher price and pocket the difference.
It's ok to over collect tax but you have to pass it on.

I think the way they're doing it is sorta like an instant rebate; you just get the difference "credited" back to you at the same time.

As for whether or not they can over collect tax and that they have to pass it on, I'm curious if that's true. If the true tax owed is less than what is taken in AS tax, I'm not sure there's law that says it must be passed along regardless. Curious to know if you have a reference for that (not that it has anything to do with reefkeeping, but now I'm curious, dammit! Somebody! Feed my brain!).

;)

If they rebate it back I think the purchase price before the discount is the deciding factor in the calculated tax they'll owe the state. If you over collect it as sales tax then you can either refund it to the consummer or forward it on to the state.
All you ever wanted to know about the sales and use tax can be found at...http://www.boe.ca.gov/index.htm

The only way to get a real answer from them is to get it in writing. Any other conversations you have with them you could just as well be talking in this forum.

At these prices, I don't mind paying tax! These are steals! STEALS!!!

Were talking Oceanic Cube!

I agree but they gotta make up the difference in price some place. If they don't each one they sell will cost them money.

anyone here know how to drill glass tank ?....I will pay for labor and gas...but if it break you pay full price for the tank just kidding. I need my 2 x 30 cubes drill willing to pay.

Chaffey, if you are in OC, I will drill for you, but you have to bring it here. Right now I only have the diamond bit for 1" bulkheads though.

BTW I will not pay if I break the tank, and know that the bottom of these are tempered and you cannot drill the bottom.

slavearm - thank you very much I am just joking about the paying, if it break oh well. I will PM you for info. Again thank you.

I'm mad, they wouldn't sell me the 33 cube in huntington beach on brookhurst and edinger. She kept saying it was part of a combo (tank + stand) and that she could not split them up (even if I was paying full price). This so called manager wouldn't budge. I argued with her for several minutes, and finally left empty handed.

I'll probably try again tomorrow.

I picked up another 40 gallon breeder & a 30 gallon Oceanic hex in Montebello. The hex originally sold for $219.00 & was reduced to $30!!! Even the clerk siad "Man, that's a great deal!"

The aquatic salesman took me in back & showed me a 90 gallon AGA that a customer had ordered & didn't pick up..........also offered it to me for $1 a gallon, so $90 total. I told him I'd have to pass since I've bought 4 tanks in the past 2 days & if I came home w/ a 90, I might as well file for divorce.......lol. If anybody is interested, go to the Montebello store & look for the guy w/ the ZZ Top beard (I didn't get his name.)

Steve :D
