10 months AI Sol Blue LEDs- take a look

I'm just surprised you don't deal with corals stinging each other..... or do you?
Oh I certainly do! That was one of the reasons I did a big pruning recently. Overgrowth leads to a lot war between the corals. It also diminishes the flow of water around them. That leads to dead spots and STN. STN is relentless and I have to act aggressively when I see it.

Your tank is always a beautiful site. Your whole presentation, the sunroom, the 360 view, and of course your animals, just amazing.

Thanks. That room is an oasis for me, especially at this time of year. It's a real stress reducer.

You have really stayed on top of your game for a long time now. That is to be admired.

As I'm sure you know, it's an addiction that leads to obsession.:spin2:

Glad to hear of your success with the LEDs for two years now.

That upgrade changed everything. They are by no means perfect and perhaps not for everyone. For me however they made a day and night difference for my tank and the room.

Amazing Tank!!!

Thanks guys.

Thanks! You can't believe how hard photography is for that tank. All the windows and light bouncing off of everywhere. I think I did the vid 3 times before I got the glare down to acceptable levels. I had a friend who is lot better with a camera take the pics.

Hey Paul I just read your article. First off, your tank is amazing. Im sick of people saying you cant have an amazing tank with the AI sols. I am considering buying some, do you happen to know how much par you have on the bottom? Also, hows the growth on the sps? Im just curious thanks.

Beautiful tank! Never seen anything like it before. My favorite tank ever right there! :)
The maturity and growth is unparalelled.

What is the furry thing at 2:30 into your video? looks kinda like green star polyp..

Hey noticed that you remove your scratches from the acrylic.. 1. when do you do it? 2. how do you do it?

I have a ton of scratches on my acrylic tank, so I want to know your secret. And what do you use to remove your coralline algae? A normal scraper?

I don't have a par meter, so I don't know what the readings are at the bottom. My tank is 29" deep and I can grow sps there so it must be acceptable. The vid your looking at was done in November. At the end of December I had to cut back a large number of colonies because they were to big. Things get too crowded fast and not only does that not look good, it cuts circulation to some of the sps.

can you post your lighting schedule here?
Right now we are having a blizzard and there is no power. I have a generator, but it does not power the lights. I will see if I can get the settings when I get electricity back. Very bad storm.

I have a micro mesh scratch kit. I attach the papers to the inside cleaning magnet and buff them out. It's really hard and tedious but it works. For the coraline I use an old pancake spatula. It is metal, but very dull so it doesn't scratch. I would be lost without that thing.

How many grits do you go through before its done? How long does it take you to do your tank? Maybe I can give a metal spatula a try (might have to dull it out first)

It all depends on how deep the scratches are. If they are slight then you start with a finer grit and it doesn't take too long. Deeper takes longer. I only do one side at a time, because it's a lot of work. It really pays to take your time and use each grit thoroughly.
