1000 Gallon Build- Here we go- Lots of Pictures

Great progress! Don't pet the sweaty things, er don't sweat, you know what I mean!
For sure the auto water changes with an Apex Dos can all be done from your sump.
Take out old SW from the upstream side and put in NSW from the downstream side.
I love it!

Thanks Delmo. Definitely not petting the sweaty things! :)

Like I said- at this point I just want to get the basics done and move into the house and then will figure out the rest. There is no doubt that we will refine and fine tune the build in the coming months. But the foundation is set with the skimmer and sump as well as the tank.

I have no idea what is taking all this time social, all you've had to do is build a house from the ground up and plumb and install a huge tank, now stop messing about and get some water in this bad boy ! I've been following this thread for ages . :) lol
But seriously though, Good luck with the move, have you decided What order you are going to kick it all off yet , rocks, sand, water , bac...... Water ,sand , rock ? Live rock ?

Working on the order but we got certificate of occupancy today! Yahoo!!!! We start moving on Monday. Furniture arrives on the 22nd!! Can't wait

Quick drive by update. The cabinet guys had to redo the bar - the paint was peeling off. So as they sanded, we decided that since they had to paint the bar regardless again, I decided to paint it white. This solves the dilemma of having different colored cabinetry. Should be done tomorrow and really this is the last bit that needs to be completed before friday.

Here are my return lines and my drain. The two lines go back to the tank. the open one will go into the drain.

4 of the 6 pumps installed. The two on the left are the Royal Exclusiv 230 watt dc return pumps. Two pumps for redundancy. The others are for my media reactors. There are two more pumps for the skimmer. 6 total in the sump.

I was hoping, praying that they would finish the plumbing today. Alas, as is always with construction, it will be done on thursday. I don't think aquascaping can begin tomorrow. It may likely be end of the week or maybe next week. :( But such is life- first world problems I guess. I can wait. I was just hoping to have the tank wet before we started moving on monday. Lets see how the schedules pan out. Im slammed thursday to sunday and I still need to meet with the installer who is going to aquascape for me. Ill keep you all posted.

You will want to give any paint/adhesive fumes time to dissipate instead of being absorbed by the water (their first choice). This is not the time to lose your cool and start rushing things.

Please do yourself a favour. Take a deep breath and let things happen when you are ready to devote the time and attention the tank requires.

Sage advice. Just a lot going on. Time for a deep breath. Appreciate it.

Sorry for the drive by post - lots going on- moving in has started. Will post more details as I come up for some air. In th meanwhile, Im honored to be able share some updated photos with you all.

Obviously lots more to do still with regards to the tank but we are getting closer. No more construction at the house- just minor odds and ends that need to be corrected. First night in the new place scheduled for Monday night.

Hello.
Soberb build. Congrats....
Just a word of caution. What are those metal pieces on the tubes?

Careful with metal on the return lines.

All the best,
Rui

Stainless steel fittings. No water in contact with them. Just used to connect the PVC to the Pex pipes.
