FRD is screwing wood for the top of the aquarium together. This wood was primed and painted high gloss white from inside and from outside of two side of the aquarium (back and one side) had screen on after that. Cement was put on it and then rocks to frame it nicely with rock. I will post a little more info about the rock when I find out more about it.

puttting screen on and there were alot of screws with washers to hold it on the plywood.

I like the Idea you have with covering the stand. I was going to do mine with slate, but was toying with cut stone idea. I may just bite your Idea and use the mesh like you , I was going to use Cement board. That's going to look real good when you finish, just hurry up..... So I can show my wife "my"idea as she couldn't picture it

There are three layers of Plywood and we had to do that to make it even with the wall that the whole frame going to. It also helped securing it. First layer of plywood (was fasten to the stand using the biggest zip tie Lowe's carry and it is used for industrail applications. the second layer (both layers are 1/2" thick) and the thirds layer to extend the frame on the actual wall next to the tank and it is 3/4" plywood. I had somebody under the stand putting holes and passing the zip ties to me so he can fasten them around the legs. It is like a rock now and it turned out nice. I have more pictures and will try to post later today.

you can see zip ties and also the piece of 2x2 that has been liquid nailed to the the stand.

Here I put 2X2 inside the I beam and used liquid nail to fasten it to it. This will give me some extra area to screw the plywood to. You want to watch when working close to the aquarium. We put a piece of plywood against the glass when we came close to the tank and also you want to have in mind the length of screw when it comes screwing plywood or anything that goes against the glass.

some areas zip tie went around two sheets and I did that to the once that are around the edge. Here you can see the layers of wood, screen and cement.

how about covering the glass to cement and other stuff does not get to it. The floor also was covered with boards and tape the edges to keep it clean. It gets dirty with cement work and you want to cover the floor.

covering glass and also you can see the piece that supports it from one corner. First idea was to hang or support the whole thing from the top but construction guys (Todd and Buddy) recommended putting a wood there and not to mess with the lines coming down from the top. This will cover the corners and after all work done there will be a nice pice of cabintry wood there.
