Get a 24 gal I regretted getting my 12gal not long after it was up and running, not much room in the 12 gal.

I opted for the 24, and trust me I really am glad I did. I have a clown in there and a couple corals now, but I am def glad I got extra room to expand.

i have both , love both.

if you think you want more stuff later, go on and get the 24, save yourself a step. I have4 reef tanks---my 12g nano, kept in my bedroom, 2 osc. clowns, a few shrimp, softies and two lps, is by far my favorite.

I have both, and have had bigger (40 g.) and service a 125g. I have found the smaller the better. You tend to appreciate things more in a smaller tank, its just more personal. You can really get close to everything.
I would recommend the 24 if your starting out b/c it will be a bit more( not much) stable.
I have a pair of clowns and a firefish in my 12g. along with a few small inverts.
Good luck
