He said cites wants a paperwork that it is legal bought even though the clarion has been in captivity for 5+ years
Hawaiians need an import permit issued by the dept. of agriculture to import plants and animals onto the island even if the plant or animal comes from another state. Proof of a CITES may also be needed if importing from another country. I assume that the d.o.a. wants to see the original CITES permit for the Clarions(even though they've been in the US for several years) to make sure they were imported into the US legally.
hear that but have sent fish to Hawaii that were in my possession for 2-3 years before I sent them...hopefully somebody can chime in offer some advice to help out...
But were yours restrictive species like the Clarion?
Imagine clarion for 500-1000 instead of 3500-5000
btw, Wayne, I appreciate the referral...thanks for thinking of me, very cool of you...
not sure why I keep passing on them...when these tinys came in I really thought I would pull the trigger...happy new year and can't wait to see what 2014 brings us!!
??? Referral? Oh, he asked me to see if you'd like a pair and I just told him to pm you. I didn't have anything to do with it really.
But yes, 2014 looks very promising. Hopefully we'll have more opportunities to rear more interesting fish and corals. Cheers!
Great to hear the Clarions are back in action. Any news on those cleaner wrasses they had? Would be awesome to have a hardier version of those guys.
