Love this picture...

Finally finished the entire thread! WOW, what an AMAZING journey it was! This is my dream tank, to have so many angelfish all together!
It's been an amazing read this thread has been, all the ups and down, all the new fish, and the all the exciting new additions! This is my favorite thread so far to follow, and so glad that it's still actively going after a few years!
I'm definitely going to follow and enjoy the ride! Thank you for sharing your amazing collection and stories!

Welcome and thank you for taking the time to read through it all!

Ted

time for a wc...

scribbled was tangling with conspic...

pretty lucky as my golden, colins, and venustus are always out...

Ted,

That's great that your Colin, Venustus and Golden are always out....

My goldens are super reclusive and never come out in open water, and barely come out of the rock work to even pick on the surface of the rock.

The Colini is at 2 weeks, and the wife and I now limit ourselves to 5 mins before going to bed sitting in front of the left side of the tank, watching one opening in the rock where the Colini on occasion will cruise past the opening in the dark of a big cave. Its a frustrating task, because with 3 venustus, a multicolor and a pair of flamebacks when any of those fish move thru the cave opening you have to struggle in the dark to see which fish it is.

I have one Venustus that is out about 80% of the time, one venustus which is out about 15% of the time, and my juvenile which is out 50% of the time. There seems to be some more interaction and following between the primary venustus and the juvenile.

But the fact that all of yours are so easy to enjoy and take photos of makes me quite envious.

We going to have drinks in DC?

Hey Dave,

I did get lucky and also believe that with the high volume of traffic in the tank may have softened them up a bit. The venustus and colini are always out, the golden is a bit more on the shy side. They do seem to tolerate the flash and me sticking it in their faces, which is huge. If I couldonly take a decent picture. Going to post some right now of the gp and others...I have a beautiful pic that I totally ruined with a flash reflection.
I hope to have many drinks with you in DC, though I just agreed to something and that is the week I go back to teaching. If I could pick 1 weekend of the entire year not to have macna, it is the weekend they always pick...
But, I do have tickets and am hopefully working on something with Marvin L. He is throwing the party and I need to see him, so I hope to go and hang with Marvin.
I hope you are well...need to catch-up on your thread.

Thanks for the Chefzilla Chowdown connection and the introduction to Brent. What a great guy and killer food! He puts up with my odd requests and his food should be the go to food for any hobbyist. It is truly the real deal, fish meal.

Best,

TK

More bad pics...most have way too much flash and are washed out...
baby conspic...

gem hybrid

this may have be a nice pic but the flash reflection killed it...

Wonderful shots as always.

It's only my opinion, but Clarions are like puppies, you wish they'd just stay small. Don't get me wrong, adults are nice too, but man, the juvi colors are stunning

Great photos as always. It seems like the shots with no flash allow you to catch a lot more fish in action. Or maybe it's just a fluke. And what a difference the flash makes, as it does with everybody's tank, but even more so with yours regarding the look of your beautiful rock !! I don't think I've ever seen a photo, like some of these most recent, that shows the real color, coralline (?) and maturity from the original Dry Rock colors. I'm talking about the photos in Posts 4674 and 4679.
Which does it really look like when you sit next to it, with the LEDs on?

Hey Matt,

I agree with you, wish clarion would stay 1-3 inches forever.. Such beautiful fish and they do lose their looks as they age...

Your Arabian is insanely beautiful...

Hey Gris,

Thanks...I would say the flash is on in every pic only shows if I don't crouch low enough...lol, the flash is great, I have a habit of wonderful, unintended shots of the live rock...that end of the tank is closet to the windows and the room faces south..I really only use the blues because natural sunlight is abundant.
Love your latest shark baby video...how is she doing?

Thank you and so far so good. She took a few pieces of good ol' P.E. Mysis the day after hatching. I had been having problems with the eggs fouling, then at least one big Whitespotted bamboo was getting to and eating up every single egg that was laid. I really believe that it had become a routing for them all. They'd perhaps smell or sense that the female gray bamboo was dropping her eggs. Anyway....... that is except for one ...... and that's the one you speak of! So I partitioned the Shark Pond just the other day.
What's really been coming together nicely is my 300... the "unveiling" will be soon!!! Hahaha

Thanks again TK
