What an amazing thread - I just spent the last two days reading the whole thing, only to see on the very last page artwork by my friend Nori!

Hey Urbor,

What type of angel are you considering?
Depends how the angel looks when I get it and the type of angel. I def leave them in qt a minimum of 8-10 weeks and believe observation is your best friend. Cupramine, prazi (will kill appetite so make sure fish is fat before using,) malachite, formalin are some things I always keep around. Cupramine will help with ich, but if you are qt a C. angel go slow, use less than what is recommended on bottle, try and attain their recommended therapeutic a bit slower than on bottle, and keep a close eye on the fish to see how it is responding. (They recommend 20 drops per 10.5 g day 1 and then again 48 hours later.. I do 15-17 drops per 10.5 g day 1 and wait 72 hours, they recommend a final concentration of 0.5 mg/l, for C. angels, I stay under that, around 0.45-0.47, unless the fish is totally handling it.) Many of those smaller angels have a rough time with that med.

Thanks that was very helpful. I'm looking at keeping some juvenile Pomacanthus Angels and tangs. I lost all my fish too ich and the tank has run fallow for over three months. I would like to setup a quarantine so this doesn't happen again. Do you ever use hypo salinity? What kind of filtration do you use on your quarantine tank? Do you use an airiator? What brand test kit do you like for copper?
