130 X 36 x 36 inbound...any suggestions?

Awesome updates Ted, love to see the new crew of triggers. I'd like to add one to my group at some point, but don't have much experience with them. I had a blue throat and that was fine, I'm not sure I'd do it again though.

Gibb,

Great dog, have a buddy with a similar. Mine is all Shiba. Got my first in the early 90's. Coda is almost 7. Lol, good eyes.

Hope all is well!

Hey Matt,

Thanks! It is refreshing to have trigs again.

Hope all is well.

All is well, trying to decide on a trigger for my tank. Considering a sargassum or crosshatch. Need something on the mellow side though.

What are your thoughts? Male crosshatch are stunning, but I'm concerned it might turn female and not be so exciting. I guess I could always get a pair, kind of a lot of money for me to spend on fish though.

Any other trigs you think I should consider? My boys want a clown, but that got shut down pretty quickly.

glad to hear!
love crosshatches, but don't love sargassums
goldenheart? they are mellow, great fish. if spending money, maybe try and get a smallish outrigger?

I love the triggers! Glad you're getting back into them. I certainly have plan to at least get the aculeatus, probably my favorite fish. Although I'd love to get a bunch of species, I'll probably have to hold to 1 or 2. :0)

These little guys are growing nicely and getting more colorful every day. They are also more comfy traveling outside the rock and pvc, which is great to see. I need to remember to wear black when I take pics.

nice to get all 6 together.

the replacement, bigger than a penny this time. bigger than a nickel, smaller than a quarter..I love these fish..

Some beautiful fish Humaguy!

You don't have any issues with the triggers getting too feisty with each other I'm guessing?

Hey Rakie,

Thanks, I appreciate it.
There can be issues, I just hope they don't get too severe. Ime, these rhincecanthus triggers seem to do okay with each other. Keeping different sizes helps and they seemingly organize a hierarchy based on that. But, lol, they are triggers, and should not be trusted. Feeding often and keeping lights low, also helps keep them mellow.
The sufflamen trig is quite different from the rhinecanthus. The few I have kept were always brutal and similar to an undulate, insofar as they seem to attack for fun and not over food, position, or territory. The current little one in the tank had zero issues going after the lunula and aculeatus, lol, and was taking them both on at the same time. Lol, the rhinecanthus seemed confused by the aggression.
I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Is it a tiny Cortez Angel?? Very cool. Looks so much like the French, which is one of my all time favorites.

Hey Puff,

Yes, a baby Cortez. As babies, very similar to French and Gray, though the Cortez has a rounder body and has electric blue lines between the yellow. They are stunning in appearance and as a bonus, do a great job of cleaning fish! As adults, they are not as beautiful but have wonderful personalities. They are, imho, an often overlooked fish.

Very cool! It makes sense they would establish a hierarchy with size being the dominant factor. I'd imagine if they grow up together they may be less prone to aggressiveness, or at least less prone to serious aggressiveness.
