Thanks guys. We added a 13" Derasa clam and a few more acros this month. It is starting to settle down a bit and color up, lots went on in such a short time. Updated pics are coming soon.

Some Videos:

I was able to take a few videos today during feeding and just a general tour up a bit closer. Sorry if they turned out overexposed.

I will try to get a stock list ready by the next update. I would like to get the rest of the stocking done and finalize, if there is such a thing, the livestock.

I really shouldn't talk about costs. If the owner wishes to disclose that he will chime in as he is following this thread as well.

We really lucked out with the wood finishing. I think it really is sharp and gives that clean, executive appeal. Although I will say that it is soft wood and finish and we have to be really careful with handling the doors and panels. We keep the "stain pen" handy!

WOW!

Just amazing! Very nice planning and build, and the video does so much to let you appriciate the scale of the tank.

A LOT! nicer than the tank in my office!

out of curiosity, how much did this all cost?

If you have to ask... you can't afford it.

I understand you have a tremendous water volume, but I am amazed that the fish are not beating eachother to death, especially w/ all those yellow tangs? How much fish on fish aggression do you see?

Wow those tanks are impressive, very nice! How often are you guys required to do maintenance on those tanks?

We are working on some more pics of the artificial reef. It is in a entry way to an office building and it is hard to take pics during the dylight hours with the glare. We are also battling a little algae that is on it's way out so when I get a free night I will go over and snap a few shots.
LooseHip:
We go over there almost everyday. It is in the middle of our usual cleaning routes and most of the time we just pop in, check things, empty the skimmers and feed. The big day is Saturday when we do water changes on both tanks and misc cleaning/testing.

It is kind of amazing when you have a bigger aquarium. We have 8 yellow tangs, 6 blue tangs, 3 purples, 1 Naso, 1 powderblue, 2 sailfins and 1 kole. Most of them were bought small so they could grow up together and reduce issues. The only aggression I really notice besides the small chases is between a couple of the yellow tangs and 2 of the purple tangs. They get in a little argument and the yellow chases the purple into "anemone island". He then waits a few seconds and swims back out without any issues. We rarely have any damaged fins on any fish. I guess there is just enough room to get away before it gets bad. We introduced the purples last to help get the others established. There are plans on a Sohal in the future so it may just start something up, but they are pretty darn tough.

I'll update some pics in the next few weeks as we are planning on adding a few more corals soon.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone!

crisc,

Absolutely beautiful work everywhere! Nicest system I have ever seen. Very well thought out.

I love the touch of finding a folding aluminum stepstool exactly the size of that skimmer base ;-)

Very nice Moorish Idol. I worry that he wont survive on the FO side of the system.
Any chance you got him recently local? ( looks familiar ).
Mine "grazed" on corals.
I think that's the only reason I kept him healthy in captivity...

Also, are the two systems tied together? I scanned the thread, but it's not clear. The Reef side could probably benefit from the bioload of the FO.

Amazing!

What a stunning tank! I love your landscaping and setup - the space for fish movement is just wonderful. My quick question - with your nice black backdrop presumably you will keep coralline out of the picture. how will you do that - just lots of elbow grease and scrapers?
