I went to a T5-only tank (from halides) purely for energy-saving reasons. I was hesitant at first, but when I saw Iwan's beautiful SPS tank, lit by Powermodules, I was sold.

My main likes: saves energy, can mix and match bulbs, I don't put 3rd degree burns on my arm when I clean the tank

Dislikes: No shimmer, No shadows, Not a very natural look.

Would I do it again? Yes, only cuz electricity is expensive where I live. Otherwise, I'd go halides

A LOT! I don't care about the kWh. It's the "overage charges" that get you out here. They establish a "baseline usage" for your household, and you're stuck with it forever. new members to the family? Who Cares, you get the same baseline!
