Dan, i hear you on the 30" tall. I think it is very nice but also a pain to deal with when it come on cleaning. I barely reach the bottom of my 24" tank.

I still go with 4 tunze 6301 and 4 external waveboxes... I will have some live sand in the middle and crush corals along the panel.

My return pump around 2200gph (Tunze Master Cir 1073.090), 4 6301 should be around 31000gph that should be enough . I just don't want sand storm in my tank. I want to go BB but i promise the wife to keep all the wrasses that she like.

GSM, i already have one acrylic box made 20x18x3 but i want to have a little bit of sand in the tank just for look. I know aragonize has large grain 5mm-6mm live crush coral. I may go with that instead and fine sand in the box. What do you think?

Haha. If I was a wrasse that slept in sand, I'd be ****ed too if crushed coral was the only substrate.
I think the mix will work out well.

I will do both fine and crushed corals. Fine sand in between the rock where it doesn't get too much flow and crushed corals for the outside. On the side note, i think i may have too much rock. Check it out and let me know what you think. This is 4f wide by a little 8 foot long section . The rock size varies from 66lbs to 1lb

I always thought Crushed Coral was just a nitrate trap but Lots of Zeo Users have Crushed coral sandbeds with no nitrate issues. i have thought about using some of it because i have bare spots in my sandbed from the flow.

If you have strong enough flow, you shouldn't have to worry about anything trap in the bottom.

Terry, the rock is in my garage in California. I just finish soaking them in RODI and Bleach for couple days. I freak out to see all the worm hanging out from all the small hole.

66lbs is pretty huge. Heavier than a sack of rice The biggest rock I have is only about 55lbs, but that was when I measured it while wet.

Dude... I eat those worms with my breakfast cereal.

The mover will take care of it. With my rank i rated 10k lbs but all my household stuff is less than 2k. So i decided to add some weight to make it worthies for them guy to drive 1400 miles.
