This is how my 6200 look with the mod.

wow steve
somehow I missed seeing a pic of that tank before

I can see how the wavebox design of your new tank is an evolution of this tank. its not up anymore right?

i just got two 6201s for my 220. they will be in addition to om-4way with a sequence dart :D probably will use profilux to make the tunzes be more occasional wavelike rather than constant high flow.

terry those pics are great, its probably great excersize for the fish  but they look so effortlessly still....

Steve, does that mod increase the flow? like a 6301? I've never seen a pic of your old tank, either. It's very nice  What are the zipties around the front, left Tunze for?

Ryan - the Desjardini has always picked food off the Tunze screen, and used to get blow half way across the tank. He must be stronger now, cuz he can chill right in front of the screen. The Sohal is a copycat and now also picking food off the screen :D

yes Terry cutting those does increse flow, you can do it to nano streams as well, also they dont clog as easily, less maintenance.

Steve had a very nice cube. I was lucky enough to see it in person. Steve, was that before the original teardown and when you were using zeo?

Steve, very curious about the 6201 mod. How does it exactly increase the flow?

- Increased gph?
- Increased gph with a more broad flow pattern?
- Increased gph with the same flow pattern as the 6201?
- Increased gph with a more narrow flow pattern like 6101?

also, by cutting out the slats, is the Tunze still able to push water the same distance across the tank?

"- Increased gph with the same flow pattern as the 6201?"

that.^^^

shortening or cutting notches in the output tube will widen the flow

Mike is posting this in the wrong thread. I think Mike needs a little sand in his life to get the senses straight :p

Nick -

I always enjoy seeing pictures of Steve's BB reef. :p

So, I bet you really liked it when he added sand ;)

This thread always seems to make me bust up laughing :D Cali traffic = texting/posting on RC....micro bubbles from Tunze intake screen facing upward :D

Terry I love this thread and the people involved... great humor w/ just the right mixture of usable reef info :D

Welcome to "Da Lounge" :D

No cover charge to get in either ;)

BTW, I turned the Tunze intake screen upside down on purpose. I get more surface agitation that way :)

We all make mistakes in this hobby.
